How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

It was near the center of Santa Cruz Staff very helpful in organising taxi to airport at 2.45 am. Had a nice swimming pool which is an advantage as it's hot in Santa Cruz

The room is small but just comfy enough. The hotel met the expectations.
The location is great close to the main square. At the end of the streets, there is a local street market with fruits, vegetables, hairdressers, cosmetic stores, pharmacies,etc. The hotel director, Carmen is lovely. She definitely the asset of the hotel. The breakfast is also good.

No hot water, staff worked hard to resolve it but couldn’t do it, ended up letting us use a shower from another room

They tried to add taxes to my bill, I called booking and got them removed. Shower didn't get hot. Eggs at breakfast were not in a warming dish, sitting there stone cold.
Staff were nice, breakfast very good, location good and convenient.

The swimming pool was not usable because it was dirty and was not being cleaned. There is no lift, the room is very basic and the door did not close perfectly so made a noise due to the wind.
The location and the size of the room (although the toilet was very small). Staff was very helpful. breakfast was very good and with a good variety.

The first room we were put in was horrible.. it was cold and there was no hot water. The toilet also lealed so the floor was constantly covered in water We did complain after a day and they moved us into a much nicer room the second day. At the front with a view of the church and hot water So it worked out OK. But it was expensive for what was offered originally
Thr staff were amazing. So helpful and nice The location was amazing. Just off from the main square They let us check in early after a long bus ride

room was ok but quite basic and needed repairs to leaking toilet and leak around door to balcony due to missing hinge, public areas were open to the outside and uncomfortable during an unusual cold snap but should usually be fine. lots of traffic noise; recommend requesting a room not on street side

There is a discotheque almost across the street and I could not sleep because of the loud music on the last night of my stay, which was a Saturday. That was the only drawback.
It is very close to the center of the town. It is very clean and the staff is most helpful.

It was all fine. We were in plan B mode and had to book something quickly on Good Friday when everything was closed. There wasn’t anything bad just Good Friday made the experience a little different.
The location was great and the staff was very helpful and friendly!

It's not their fault, but the surrounding zone felt a little unsafe at night. The shower is electric and it doesn't work very well, it makes a lot of noise and barely warms the water or throws boiling water.
It's a good place to stay a couple of nights. The facilities are clean and the pool is nice. Staff is very gentle and in general the place is in good conditions. Always ask for the pool view to have a more quiet and peaceful room. The ones facing the street would be very noisy. The breakfast is good enough but doesn't have a lot of variety.
