Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BrazilThere wasn't really anything that we didn't like. It seemed as though they are currently expanding/under construction in one area of the hotel, but this did not affect us in anyway.
The entire staff was wonderful. Everyone made it a point to make our stay extremely comfortable, and it all started with Sr. Raul, the owner. Due to our vehicle breaking down, we got to the hotel nearly 12 hours later than expected. Upon hearing about our misfortune, and that none of us had had a bite to eat all day, he sent his staff to prepare teas and snacks for everyone, and then had the restaurant staff get ready to serve us dinner 30min before the restaurant was to open. He did all of this unprompted- we did not ask for any of that. It was just a man in the hospitality business being a warm, wonderful host trying to take care of his guests. Our entire stay, he made us feel welcome, important, and special. We cannot say enough good things about the entire team at Hotel Kachi. Whenever we are able to get back, we already know where we will be staying: with Sr. Raul and the fine folks at Hotel Kachi. Thank you so much, sir, for your wonderful hospitality.

IrelandIt is a bit of a walk to the main part of town and bus station but it was just 10 B in a taxi to the bus station.
We had a lovely room.. the original room we were given was huge on the ground floor with a TV. We asked could we have a room upstairs this was no problem at all.. it was a smaller room but lots of space for 2 of us. There was no TV in the room which was no problem for us. Great shower and great Internet.. we stayed just one night. The breakfast was amazing really. The staff were really nice and helpful.

United StatesWi-Fi was a little bit weak when everybody was on it at the same time
The owner and his family were friendly, accommodating, and kind. They took care of our personal vehicle while we were touring for three days. When we were ready to go to POTOSÍ, the owner even found us a hotel over here The food was excellent the breakfast was very nice and the chef who cooked food for the dinners was fantastic! The water for the shower was hot and there was heat in the room floors that we did not need it because it was summertime The owners also have tours. Though we did not tour with them. They are very communicative by way of WhatsApp It would be good if a person spoke Spanish to visit this part of Bolivia but it’s not necessary they do speak English

United StatesThere is nothing I disliked about the hotel.
This a gorgeous hotel with interior decorated with salt bricks from the Salar de Uyuni. The rooms are small but very comfortable. Perfect bed, pillows, blankets, etc. Excellent independent controllable heat source in each room. Very nice breakfast. But the very BEST PART of the hotel is it's team. Everyone is going an extra mile for their customers. In our case the hotel manager, Raul, may have saved my friend's life who came down with severe altitude sickness during an altiplano tour at 4600 m above the sea level. Raul arranged and drove us to the hospital, helped with admission, purchase of necessary medications, and stayed in communication with the hospital until the discharge. AMAZING KINDNESS 🙏!

United Kingdom- they opted for the age old trick of using their "own" currency exchange rate which was obviously about 15% worse than anywhere else in the country plus an additional 5% surcharge for card payments. Having spent all day out I just wanted a shower and a bed so I wasn't about to kick up a fuss but that obviously soured my mood so I was annoyed by a whole bunch of other things: - the WiFi in our room was very poor. Probably because ours was the room furthest from the reception area. It was fine elsewhere. - the bedside tables cut from salt fit into the overall theme of the place but they're quite rough and will snag or scratch pretty much anything you put on them (like a mobile phone!) - the double bed was really tiny and quite uncomfortable
- the vibe was friendly and relaxed - the interior is pleasant and inviting with the bricks cut from salt - the guys at the front desk made an effort to greet everyone (can't say that after getting up at 4am and being out all day I cared too much for the theatrical performance but bonus points for effort) - lovely breakfast

Czech RepublicThe rooms and generally the whole hotel looked wonderfull on the pictures but in reality it was quite disappointing, the room and bath were very small and pent-up. Althought we had a big suitcase we were placed in a room on a third floor (no elevator in this place) and when leaving nobody helped us with the suitcase (we had to drag it our selves - two women). Then at the entrance we had to pay cash in advance (before even seeing the room), after we left (a few days after) the hotel cancelled the reservation (as if we even didn’t appear!)… I recommend keeping the receit for the cash payment! Then we were offered the tour to Salar de Uyuni, mediated by the hotel, which was the double cost compared with the agencies down town. The location is at the suburb of Uyuni, although it was stated just 750m from the center when making the reservation! Unfortunetely I have to say it was my worst stay in Bolivia and the hotel’s attitude was rather disappointing.
The breakfast was sufficient, althought there was just instant coffee and I had to have a quarrel with the staff to get two fried eggs.

United StatesThe hotel is a converted office building. The rooms are drafty, cold, weirdly-shaped, and you can hear your neighbors and the common areas through the paper-thin walls. There is not enough hot water (icy cold every time I tried to shower although my spouse had luke-warm, not hot, water). The location is on the edge of town, not easy walking distance for most people. They were also doing construction on the third floor while we were there which made resting in the room during the day impossible.
The staff was friendly and efficient. But that was the end of the positives I'm afraid.
