Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomSigns say no noise after 10pm yet the staff played music until much later. Room had no exterior windows, all lead to hallways. Our bathroom window looked out into the stairwell…. The staff at breakfast could have been more friendly/acknowledged we existed….
Good location and comfy bed. Shower was hot and big.

United StatesVery little social events were organized. There were apparently activities that were supposed to occur nightly according to the chalkboard but nothing was ever organized. Also some bathrooms did not have soap in them.
Great staff and location. Cleaning occurred daily

United KingdomShowers only useable in morning and evening. Massive beam above bed (dangerous). The tiniest piece of tomato with breakfast almost feels like they are mocking you, overall the breakfast is a simple and small portion of eggs and bread. Loud restaurant music top floor. Restaurant also used for public so sometimes no place to eat your own food. Street can be loud at times. Lockers could be bigger. Tours expensive. On site cafe expensive. I also asked reception 3 times if the cleaners found my toothbrush, as I may have left it on the sink before going out for the day. Each time I asked reception, theyvsaid they will send a message. They never told me in the end.
Showers were good. Breakfast ok. Big Hostel. Great Location. Warm beds. Nice views.

Moldovathe bar which is open till 23:00 was playing loud terrible music so basically you cannot sleep earlier as you hear drunk people screaming and actually on Wednesday night they played music till almost midnight. and then the people in my room were quite disrespectful regarding the sleeping hours, coming back at 2am to pack their backpacks with the lights on and slamming doors without any consideration for us sleeping. if you want good rest, I don’t recommend this place. also from the street you hear the traffic quite loud till late and then early morning starts again. for 30bs more I found a hotel next street and I have a double bed with private bathroom all for myself.
good location and nice staff but next time I would go somewhere else :) the hostel is noisy and party like vibes, not my kind of

United StatesThe smell of the shared room I was in was quite bad, lots of trash in it including an empty pizza box in the room, so difficult for me to stay but I was checking out in a few hours anyways. Please do a deep clean and airing out of the rooms.
I gave them very short advance notice that I needed middle of the night check in and they were able to arrange a taxi for me and someone was there to check me in. I was warm in the room with enough blankets and it had good breakfast. Nice staff.

United KingdomStayed in Lobo hostel for 2 nights with some friends and really enjoyed my stay. You are able to check at whatever time as the reception is 24hrs. The rooms/ toilet were very clean when we arrived. Breakfast is included and consists of juice, tea/ coffee, a banana, bread and eggs which was great. The location of Lobo hostel is also ideal and central. Close to everything! We also booked some activities through Lobo hostel such as Cholitas wrestling and also biking Death Road and it was very easy to book, well organised and reasonably priced! Would recommend Lobo hostel if you’re looking for a social, central and comfortable stay.

CanadaBreakfast is served too late if you are taking tours or an 8am bus. They give you a little bag of snacks but I would have rathered a cheaper rate.
Right by witches market and only 20 minutes walk from bus terminal. Big windows in room, individual outlets at each bed. Big lockers. Got a great price with them for Death road biking (350 sols full suspension, paid less than anyone else on the tour).

SwitzerlandThe facilities are mediocre at best. In the room I was staying, the door to the toilet was broken, and also partially see-through. Especially being the only woman in a room of only men this made things awkward and uncomfortable. Luckily, there were shared bathrooms a floor up, but still not great (there were sometimes dirty and the shower only gave a very weak drizzle). Also, the room didn't have a real window, and the music from upstairs was so loud that it was hard to sleep until very late. This was annoying and most of all unnecessary, considering that the bar was never really busy or people dancing. One of the employees falsely told me it wasn't possible to exchange money or book tours through the hostel, luckily I asked someone else after shift change and got very good service.
Great location, majority of staff very helpful and knowledgeable. I was there when everything was closed due to carnival, and they were great in helping me organize my onward journey as well as, when asked, exchanged USD at an acceptable rate (significantly better than others). They also have a great offer of affordable tours and excursions. The bar under the rooftop is a very nice place to chill, easy to get in contact with other people, fair prices.
