Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelOne day, there was a show in the lobby, and the noise was just too loud. It was heard very loudly in our room, causing our little children to wake up, and they could not go back to sleep until the show ended. I'm not sure how often this happens, but I would consider having such shows outside if possible, or at least lower the volume to a reasonable level. It was awfully loud in the lobby as well.
The room was large, clean and tidy. There is a bathroom and a shower as a part to each bedroom which was very comfortable. The staff of the hotel were very kind and took care everything we've needed. There are many facilities on the hotel. even though the hotel was full with guests, we didn't feel it at all. there was always room in the dining area, we barely encountered lines in the food court and water slides. it was a great ending for our long trip.

RomaniaThe mini aqua park should be larger, as what we find there at present is way too little. Also, the food can be improved and diversified. For example, the Benedict eggs are poorly cooked and the breakfast offer is not at all diverse, a lot of omelette and eggs - boiled, scrambled, or fried. Also, you could improve your offer at lunch. It is a good thing you do not waste too much food, but more diverse food would be great. Besides food, entertainment for children should include a gaming area, with bowling, VR, Xbox, and all the things kids enjoy. You do offer some entertainment for children, but it is not enough at all.
Great accommodation, clean, large rooms, and the swim-up lagoon is an excellent experience. Relaxing atmosphere, nice beach and pools area. The a-la-carte restaurants are also a great experience! Live music was entertaining, but some singers could try more.

IsraelWow! We had an absolutely amazing time at the Wave Resort - Ultra All Inclusive! Our large group of 17, with kids of all ages, had the most incredible vacation. This hotel is a true paradise. The pools are fantastic — there are so many of them and they're perfect for everyone, from the little ones to the adults. We all had a blast. The resort itself is stunning, with beautiful, well-kept grounds that are a pleasure to walk through. Bulgaria is a delightful country with a gorgeous sea and beaches, but what truly impressed us were the kind and wonderful people. The hotel staff were all so lovely, always ready to help and make our stay as comfortable as possible. We left with the fondest memories and are already planning our return! Thank you, Wave Resort, for this amazing holiday!

RomaniaThe swimup pool should be wider.
The location is lovely, even though it might seem isolated I take it as a win because you wont be disturbed by the music from other resorts. The resort is well built, with premium materials, super big rooms and nice amenities. Beds are confy and all spaces, both common and private are super clean. The pools are nice and clean, the staff is friendly and the food is surprisingly good for an all inclusive, as good as an a-la-carte restaurant. Another nice thing about food is the fact that you can find food around the resort basicalyy 24/7. Theres always a place by the pool or next to the restaurant where they serve food. And its good. So you won't starve😅. Pools are not crowded, you can easily find free sunbeds. The beach is clean but the sea is not quite clean. Lots of plastics and other trash (brought in from the sea). I had a room with swimup pool and it was nice, but pool is kind of narrow. The alcohool is also good, with medium budget acohool used to make cocktails. You won't find super-cheap drinks here like in other all inclusive hotels. I highly recommend the place!

IsraelThe gaming room is fun, but the pricing is quite high (€2.50 per game). The hotel is located about 15 minutes from Sunny Beach and around 25 minutes from Burgas, with nothing really around it. That said, you honestly don’t need anything else – the hotel has everything you could possibly want. Taxis are easily available if you want to explore.
An amazing all-inclusive experience for families and couples! Wave Resort exceeded all expectations! The variety of pools is incredible – some are heated, some indoor, some for kids, others for adults, and there’s even an adults-only quiet zone. The hotel has its own private beach with easy access, which adds a great touch of luxury. The food selection is outstanding – available 24/7 as part of the all-inclusive package. There’s a huge buffet with endless options, and we never had to wait in line, even though the hotel was fully booked. It never felt crowded – there were always free sunbeds by the pool, space at the restaurants, and a relaxed atmosphere. The hotel offers so many activities for kids – from playgrounds to evening shows, and even a fully-equipped gaming room (note: games are charged separately at €2.50 per play, which we felt was a bit expensive). There’s also a billiards room, a kids club, and live entertainment every night. The facilities are top-notch – luxurious spa, high-end gym, sauna, and an overall clean, modern design throughout the property. The rooms themselves were spacious, beautifully designed, and very comfortable. Alcoholic drinks, cocktails, slushies, and ice cream are available all day as part of the all-inclusive deal – and the service was fantastic throughout.

BulgariaMost of the spa areas were not for free - only sauna, steam bath, herbal sauna, pool, and jacuzz.
This ultra all-inclusive package delivered beyond expectation, covering every desire. The restaurant's culinary spread was really great, offering endless options for every palate. Impeccably polite staff and a readily available concierge ensured our stay was perfect.

Stunning hotel with amazing grounds. Too many swimming pools - I didn’t get the chance to actually see them all. Perfect for families and groups alike. Wonderful service and great choice of foods at the buffet. It was absolutely spotless - all the time. Cleaners do more than the average clean! Most impressive are the Lagoon rooms. Wow. HungaryGenerally, the enjoyment level of a hotel is greatly influenced by the nature of the guests staying there. Unfortunately, during our stay, a significant portion of the guests displayed behavior that fell far below the standards expected at a five-star hotel. The guests (at least based on their behavior) seemed to belong to the uncultured social class, who do not even recognize the minimum expected standards of behavior. In a 5-star resort, attentive staff is expected and essential. Unfortunately, here, you had to look hard to find kindness (not just towards us, but in general). We mostly experienced this general unfriendliness from the waiters and bartenders. An exception was the Asian staff (for example, a waitress named Ayla, who was particularly kind to everyone); they mostly greeted the guests with a smile. It was also strange that at check-out, not a single question was asked about our satisfaction, which is usually standard. Furthermore, it’s problematic that many staff members do not speak English. Regarding the food, particularly the pastries: there was a wide variety, but they were tasteless, commercial desserts. Half the selection would be more than enough, with much better quality. Overall, the food was rather mediocre.
We were on a business trip in Bulgaria, so we made a short detour to the resort. Overall, I would say that for a 5-star hotel, there is an expected international standard, but compared to similar-rated hotels I've stayed in before, the Wave was a bit disappointing. The facility itself is absolutely great: spacious, organized, well-maintained, and has pleasant common areas with an excellent pool area. The hotel's outdoor pool (and its surroundings) has a very nice atmosphere and is attractive and inviting, but unfortunately, it is ice-cold. The relaxation area around the pool is also well-maintained, clean, has plenty of sunbeds, and is aesthetically pleasing with lush greenery; this was particularly appealing. The wellness/fitness/sauna section is excellent, well-equipped, with a pleasant atmosphere and sufficient space in the saunas and relaxation room. The room we booked was spacious and clean, offering a good view of the fountain and the sea. The soundproofing in the room is also excellent. However, there was occasionally an unpleasant sewer smell coming from the bathroom.

SwitzerlandFirst and foremost if you're coming from anywhere else than Eastern Europe you should recalibrate your expectations for what a 5* holiday really is. These are 5 Balkan stars not French stars. Cleaning is so-so. Guests are mostly lower to middle income German families and middle to upper income "new money" Eastern European families so that's whom the hotel caters for. I'm Eastern European myself and left somewhat disappointed. 1. Staff could be a bit friendlier although it's within average for Eastern Europe. 2. The almost daily evening entertainment is appalling. It usually starts at 9pm with different "themes" which is OK for people that are into tacky/kitsch/cheap circus/karaoke style of entertainment. The problem is that the entire hotel has to put up with the noise of these shows where honestly only a small percentage of guests participate. The speakers are turned very loud and the shows usually end at 11pm. We booked a suite for 8 nights with a 2 year old and even with the windows closed, he could not fall asleep until midnight when it was quiet. After a full day on the slides, if you have older kids, don't forget how it was when they were toddlers. No sleep and you're one step closer to hell. One of the singers that was invited to do radio covers sounded like a goat with laryngitis auditioning for Eurovision. Yes, it's that kitsch. We had fun during the day but no chance for an early night during our stay. 3. Food: Bread is mostly stale, often cold, never felt fresh. Sweet corner is hit and miss. Some desserts were very good, some tasted similar to what you'd get at your local supermarket. Not exactly 5*. Bacon is burnt etc. 4. Alcohol: We're not big drinkers but like enjoying a good wine/prosecco/gin. The wine that's included is pretty bad. The prosecco tasted decent but both me and my wife left convinced there's no alcohol in it.
Spacious room, great view, good selection of foods, very clean pools albeit not sure how our suite with the inherent premium attached was different than any other double room we had the chance of seeing by befriending some guests. Perhaps a larger dressing and a couch?
