How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The breakfast was mediocre - two plain bread slices (not toasted), tiny packages condiments (imitation honey, jam, butter), slab of ham, piece of cheese and boiled egg. It took some effort to convince them for a two glasses of hot water. The male person of the staff is very far from any proper hospitality behavior. The balcony was VERY dirty, covered in dust and dirt. There was a cigarette stub in the ashtray. There were spider webs everywhere along with the spiders. The owner is biased against cyclist and wouldn’t allow us to bring our bikes (clean road bikes) in the room. The offered alternative was supposed to be locked at night but was actually a shed that doesn’t lock.
The place is very interesting and has interesting history. There is a lush and diverse garden including exotic birds. For dinner we kept our order to the most simple things and were very satisfied. The suite was comfortable, exactly as pictured.

The wifi only works in the common areas, which seems due to the building itself.
The nice staff. They opened the restaurant just for me - the owners are also the cooks and waiters, at least off season. Yes, the building is old and everything is basic and simple. However, I do not understand the bad reviews. Everything was clean, breakfast was okay, everything was worth the value. If you don't expect too much, you will get to enjoy a much underrated and beautiful area of Bulgaria.

Hotel has definitely seen much better days. No staff. It seems to be run by an elderly couple who spoke no English. We were told we could only have breakfast at 08.00am as couple wanted to go into Harmanli early that morning. Hotel was locked up after we checked out at 09.00am!!! Hotel was grubby and bsthroom items rusting. Grounds not set up to receive guests. Chairs had no cushions etc Our room was advertised as having a minibar when only the more expensive balcony suite had one not the normal rooms. Hotel needs a good clean/refurbishment/staff. It could be lovely!

No complaints!
We loved the property! This is the oldest hotel in Madzharovo and it has a spectacular view. There’s a big, well-kept garden with a gazebo, a peacock, a tiny church and a beautiful flower arrangement. The breakfast is included in the price and the owners use eggs from their own chickens to cook the omelette and the tea is made from homegrown herbs. The owners are literally the nicest and warmest people! Please take a moment to talk to them if you go there and ask them about the history of the hotel as well as some local legends. It’s those people, their love, attention to detail and their big hearts that will make us choose to come here over and over again!!

The hotel is from the old ones but renovated. The curtains in my room were tear on a lot of places. Basically you can’t use them. There were spider nets. The WC was not cleaned as expected in most hotels. There are spider nets on places in the hotel coridors and on main stairs. The hotel is somehow clean but as for not frequently booked place and not visited by people. That is why I suppose are the spider nets but this is not excluding the above for the room. High price for the service you get.
Beautiful garden. There is a lot of park place to park your car.
