Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBe aware the apartments have no lift so for some maybe hard to climb 3 flights of steps. It was fine for us.
Great location and good size room. Host was very friendly.

BulgariaThe room is located under the roof, and you need to climb the stairs to the 4th floor, which can be demanding for elderly people.
The location is excellent, close to both of the Sozopol beaches and not far from the Old Town. The room is small, but it has a good-sized bathroom and a large terrace with a sea view. The room is equipped with all the necessary commodities for a pleasant stay

United KingdomI would not say I "did not like" anything because the host was so lovely and i was happy, but maybe the pillows could be a bit softer (they hurt my neck a bit, but I do have neck problems) and I would say if you're not good with stairs, then the top floor is quite a big work out, especially after all the hills of Sozopol. I enjoyed the exercise and managed them easier by the end of the week but I was always out of breath and I am pretty fit!I think these stairs would be challenging if you're not fit or have knee problems, so maybe check which floor your room will be if you do decide to stay here as the top floor is pretty high, but maybe lower floors would be ok (but less view.) The air con works fine but perhaps not the coldest most modern I've experienced, but I got used to it after a week and I didn't mind it. I did arrive when there was a storm so I think it was particularly muggy and humid the first two days! Overall very good considering the price, you get a good basic place to stay, I found this very reasonable and it suited my needs as a solo traveller who just needed a cheap place and a safe and reliable and friendly host! Thank you so much!
The host is so so kind and very excellent at communicating and answering WhatsApp messages promptly, even before you arrive at the accommodation, she waited for me to arrive even though my flight was late and after midnight, and I was worried travelling as a solo female traveller. There's cctv downstairs, and the front door is always locked so it feels secure. You can get your room cleaned daily if you want (I didn't) and there's a fridge in the room too for basic things like water and fruit, you also get a kettle and a little balcony to sit on, and a tv if you want to use it, as well as a wardrobe. The location is pretty decent, about 10/15 minute walk (if you walk fast like me) to the old town or to Harmanite beach, it's pretty hilly though so it helps if you're fit, or you can walk slow and take it easy. All of Sozopol has lots of hills and a lot of walking, so you should be aware of this if you plan to visit Sozopol. There's also a couple of ATMs at the bottom of the road from Rooms Via Maris which is useful. There's plenty of little corner shops near by, within 3-5 minutes walk, and also a big supermarket called BILLA about 10 minutes walk if you want instant coffee and cheap things, they have pastries and warm food like hot chicken and potatoes etc, although I'd recommend buying from a proper baker or getting food from a stall, but the supermarket is a good option if you want to keep food costs down. I would recommend staying here if you want a basic and cheap stay with a very warm and friendly host.

United StatesI was very happy with everything. However, you should note that most of the rooms are up stairs (mine was on the fifth floor I think) and there is no elevator, so if you have difficulty with stairs please keep this in mind.
The hotel is in an excellent location, within walking distance to both the beach and the old town of Sozopol. The hostess is extremely nice and accommodating. My room was at the top of the hotel and had a lovely balcony with a view of the ocean. The air conditioning kept it cold. Bathroom was extremely clean. I wanted to stay extra nights but the room was already booked; however the owner found another room in a building next door for me which was also very comfortable. I was very pleased with my stay.

BulgariaI enjoyed almost everything about my stay, however, the host can be slightly nosy. As a paying guest, I would prefer not to be disturbed with questions about who I *might* bring over for the evening.
Clean, large rooms. Excellent location.
