Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaFor us, this accommodation was just a transit stop on our way from Greece to Bulgaria to Romania. We chose it because of the good rating on Booking. When we arrived—indeed, late in the evening at 11 PM—the gates were closed, and we had to call someone to come and open them. That wasn’t really a problem. However, when we got to the reception, even though we had booked through Booking as mentioned, we were told that payment had to be made in cash, as apparently card payments were only accepted until 10 PM. After I explained that I could only pay by card, as I didn’t have enough cash, and suggested that if it was a problem, we could pay in the morning (which was initially refused), miraculously, after scanning our ID cards, paying by card suddenly became possible. It was clearly just a matter of willingness and opening the payment software. The location is beautiful, just like in the pictures. The accommodation is decent, the room was clean, but the attitude of the receptionist was poor. Breakfast was very basic, but if you don’t have any other option, you settle for what’s available. As a transit stop, it’s acceptable.
The location, and the stuff in the morning

SloveniaHowever, we don't think this is a suitable place for families. It felt like couples like to go there for private affairs, and the walls were so thin that you could easily hear their "affections" both day and night. On top of that, it's impossible to take a walk anywhere, as the surrounding area is private property and the only accessible road is a busy main one.
This hotel was our two-night stop with our family (a kid and a baby) while traveling to Bulgaria. We really liked the location by the lake, and the pools and food were great.

United KingdomThe gym; well does not exist really. Waiting staff took a long time to acknowledge me and not just on one occasion. A smile was a rarity. The lake is fantastic but swimming is difficult. Firstly it is full of underwater weeds/aquatic plants. There is a pontoon which gives you a chance to get into deeper water but there is no way to get back onto the pontoon! Secondly, the hotel serves also a a jetty/harbour for boats and most annoyingly jet skis; indeed, it seems to be 'the' jetski scene in Bulgaria. Unfortunately, this spoiled the tranquility of such a wonderful nature spot. You could not go in the water out of fear of being 'skied' over - there were 11 jet skis at my last count, whose drivers were mostly trying to outperform each other. The noise was reminiscent of a Grand Prix, and the fumes like sitting at a service station - nice if you like the smell of petrol. The room was pleasant enough; the floor was dirty however and on entering the room one could be forgiven for thinking that one had stepped into a council swimming pool so overwhelming was the smell of chlorine. Even opening the window for a few hours did not help.
Looking for a relaxed break from the touring the city, this was ideal. The property is isolated with idyllic views across the lake. The beach area is packed with chairs; enough for everyone but feels slightly congested. The pool area is split over two areas which is also pleasant and great for kids. The outdoor dining area gives one lovely views over the lake and allows for a fresh breeze to escape the heat of summer. Bed was very comfortable.

RomaniaA bit too much kitsch - although the interior designers had a lot of possibilities, even with the Camelot-story... Some functional things can also be improved. And, unfortunately, there were no lamps in the room.
The location is wonderful, the bartender speaks good English and the staff were very polite... It is a very baby-friendly place, our 9 months son enjoyed our night there very much. It is a pity we did not have the possibility to stay for a swim - the water also looked great. They also have a nice parking place, protected from the rain.

BelgiumThe food was bad, luckily about 7km further away from Sofia, we found a lovely road restaurant on the left side of the road with fresh and delicious food. If food is of importance for you, don't stay in the hotel for lunch or dinner (but saddly there's no alternative for breakfast).
The hotel is a private lounching place for boats and jetski's, so it's quite loud during the day (engines) and often loud in the evening (parties). The pools are nice, the rooms ok and the staff does his/her best, but if you want a relaxed stay somewhere out of the noize - don't come here!

United KingdomThe rooms were dirty and smelt of chemicals. Bedding was stained and cigarette ash was left in a glass in the bedroom. The breakfast is very basic.
The location is amazing and the outdoor facilities make the most of the proximity to the beautiful lake. The pools are small but well-designd and clean.
