A little bit harder to navigate there with a car, but actually you should not, it's a walking street, not a car friendly one. Still there's a garage for a few cars if you get there with large luggage and/ore a big family.

The hotel is located on an extremely picturesque street with well-preserved old houses, and the most important thing is the panoramic view of the Yantra River, the city and - in the distance - the monument dedicated to the Assen dynasty. The city center is full of small bars, cafes and restaurants that you can easily reach on foot in 10-15 minutes from the hotel. We ate at the hotel restaurant for the simple reason that it would have been stupid to miss, on a summer evening, a dinner served outdoors, with the gorgeous view I mentioned. The breakfast was excellent, the cold cuts, cheese and eggs were prepared and presented in an attractive way, and the bread was fresh. The room was spotlessly clean, had a fridge and coffee maker, and the bathroom was spacious. The highlight, however, was the balcony overlooking the river valley, decorated with potted flowers. Everything I've written so far leads to one conclusion: whenever we pass through Veliko Tarnovo, we will gladly stop at Hotel Gurko!

some small improvements would be great, such as adding mosquito nets to room windows. it’s quite necessary if you want to sleep with the windows open, without unwanted insects flying inside.

It's not in the location's fault but the fact that the location is situated on a pretty narrow street the parking spaces are limited but you can park on the street before turning right. We were lucky to have a space saved for us. It was trickier going out on that narrow street but that it was a beautiful experience

The room was very big. It had an smaller room connected with no doors in between where our child slept. The view is spectacular. You can see The monument of Assana Dinasty. It was very hot outside on our staying but the AC in the room was working perfectly. The bathroom was spacious and had a bath tub. The stuff was very welcoming and helpfull. The breakfast is included in the room price and it was delicious if not a little too much. Coffee, croissant, some sort of cheese pie and this was just the beginning. For our kid they brought a kid breakfast with fruit yogurt, a cockie and a Kinder pingui besides the rest of the food.

- the beds are a bit short - the curtains where very short and not very dark. But we noticed this in more hotels in Bulgaria.

- the breakfast was amazing! - the rooms are a bit old, but still very clean and beautiful. - big bathroom - we could check in early - the staff is very friendly and helpfull. - the view from the balcony is amazing. - there is a mini bar - the location is very nice.

I booked one room for one night in 2 different days and the price was 104 euros each time. When I payed at the location they asked me to pay 120 euros. This happen both times.

I stayed one night at Gurko Hotel and absolutely loved it! The place is beautifully designed, super cozy, and full of charm. The staff were kind and helpful, breakfast was tasty, and the view was amazing. Definitely a 10/10 experience!
