How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The balcony is shared and we were woken up by a family with kids in front of our terrace door. A guy was leaning at the door to have a smoke while we were in bed (which was a bit uncomfortable too) with no curtains on, as we were not aware of this shared balcony for the whole hotel on the first floor. The parking option is also quite limited so it's not quaranteed to have a spot even if you reserved one!
The location is great, walking distance from everything in the old town. The room was big enough for a couple to be comfortable in for a few days.

The 🥵 heat, but this came out from the high temperatures 🌡 in the sun 🌞...and down on our planet...
Friendly guy at the reception helped us get the needed information for our stay there.

Very weak Wi-Fi which often disconnects.
Very clean, comfortable, spacious rooms. 3 minutes on foot from Tsarevets Fortress.

The host was very helpful and they invited us to park the motorcycle in the underground garage which is locked overnight. The hotel is situated in the old city center, among a lot of old buildings and narrow streets.

was central to everything, parking and although there wasn't a restaurant there were vending machines and unbelievable value at the price

The matrasses are very old, and offer poor comfort. They should have been replaced 5 years ago.
Hotel Silvestar is very close to the entrance of fort Tsarevets, and also close to the museum of illusions and the Sarafkina house. It has a parking, which is rare in Veliko Tarnovo. The room was beautiful and large. The man at the reception is great. He gave me quite some tips and showed me drone videos of Veliko Tarnovo. He also checked if the sound and light show was on that day.

Beds are not that comfortable, quite old.
Good location, spacious room, nice staff. Parking in their garage. Fortress is 5 minutes walking away, city centre and many restaurants are about 10 minutes walking in the other direction.

Although it is mentioned that they have wifi coverage, they don't have in all rooms especially at last floor.
They had underground parking keeping safe the car. Close to a few tourist attractions, restaurants

The WiFi connections did not quite reach our room and it was also required for operation of the TV so we couldn't use it. The mattress was the worst of the three hotels we stayed in during our holiday but we did still sleep quite well.
The room was clean and spacious with big windows and a very large terrace with a good view. Location was good - a short walk to both the fortress and a good selection of shops, bars and restaurants. Staff was helpful and knowledgeable.

The hotel is located at a really convenient location, it's within a quiet street and you can walk to most of the interesting attractions within the city.

The shower hook was broken,this was a little inconvenient for shaworing,aslo I booked a large bed and payed extra for it and ended up on two singles.
The hotel was clean and the stuff was nice.

The check in took a bit to long but after that the stay was pleasant.

The parking garage was rather small and crowded with pillars. The lack of guaranteed parking is a serious disadvantage, especially since there's limited parking available nearby.
Situated in a peaceful neighborhood just steps from Tsarevets Hill, surrounded by excellent restaurants, cafes, and convenient public transport links.
