My son ordered a fried pork cutlet but received a beefsteak. He pointed out the mistake to the waitress and showed her what he wanted on the menu. He then received a steak with mushrooms. For breakfast, my niece ordered French toast but was served a reheated sandwich. Since we were on vacation, we just had a laugh and remembered Peter from Germany's comment. 😀

A solid hotel for a one-night stay. The room was spacious, the food was average, and the staff were endearingly confused. The surroundings are calming.

the restaurant was a real letdown. It had no atmosphere at all, and the food wasn’t good. We’ve been eating in different places every night during our stay in Bulgaria, and this one was the most disappointing. Breakfast wasn’t great either. There’s an excellent restaurant not far from the monastery that we ended up going to — we highly recommend that instead. The hotel itself has potential, but it doesn’t seem well maintained, and it seems that staff couldn't care less. The children’s playground is a good idea, but it’s right next to an area that smells like sewage, and the outdoor space in general felt a bit messy and neglected. Bed wasn't too comfy...

We were quite nervous about coming here due to the previous reviews, but we were actually pleasantly surprised. We had booked the junior suite and got everything we had asked for: the room had air conditioning, a baby cot was ready, and the mini fridge we requested the day before was already in the room when we arrived. So overall, we had everything we needed. The welcome at reception wasn’t particularly warm, but it was fine. honestly, we were expecting worse. The room was spacious, clean.. Also, unlike what we had read, they did accept card payments without any issue — even just for coffees in the morning. The hotel is just a short drive from the monastery, which is really convenient. In short, we stayed for two nights and it was okay. Not our favorite hotel of the trip, but it did the job.

The room lacked refrigerator, even if it is mentioned in the facilities for the room. And we needed it :) The hotel looks old and poorly kept. The room was not clean... hair on the sofa, dust everywhere... this kind of details. The nature around is beautiful, but hotel's "garden" looks sloppy.

Restaurant was very good. Good food, good wine, excelent value for the price we paid. Very quite, we slept good, even if the beds were not the best.

In room 101 the curtains are not wide enough to completely cover the windows.

We have stayed at this hotel several times, so we thought we knew what to expect. However, since the last time that we were there they have upgraded with free WiFi, the ability to take Credit Cards and also some upgrades to the rooms. We stayed in rooms 101 and 102. The food in the restaurant is typical for a Bulgarian village and I always enjoy their Shopska Salad. Although the staff is limited in their ability to speak English, the signs and menus in the hotel are all translated into English (sometimes not very well translated). If you are going to visit the Monastery, this hotel is very close by. The "white noise" from the mountain river can be a great help to a good nights' sleep.

A kettle in the room would have been nice.

The room was basic but very clean with a lovely balcony overlooking the river. The restaurant was very good, especially the locally caught trout. There was plenty of parking and it was very well located for the Rila Monastery and various hikes. There is an (unmanned) information centre opposite the hotel which gives ideas for local hikes.

In our case, we arrived late in the evening, and there was no staff on-site. I had to call via WhatsApp to notify them of our arrival and wait nearly 30 minutes for the personnel to arrive. If you have a long distance flight and route, it's not so acceptable. It's very important to have good mobile internet for check-in problem resolution.

The mattresses felt old and too soft. The baby bed mattress was wood with thin layer of sponge. There wasn't air-conditioning even though the room is advertised with it, when i asked the staff about it they just told me that it is what it is, and they can give me back the money and that ill go look for another hotel. The only staff mamber that were kind are the cleaning ladies.

The room was big, there was alot if space, it was clean. There is a nice balcony and playground for the kids. River near by. Great location, close to Rila monestery.

No soundproofing in rooms which meant that neighbours were overheard, however it was comfortable and peaceful generally
