Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe 2 steps from bedroom level to bathroom level I thought a little dangerous in the night without some kind of dimmed light.

PolandOn the downside, the room lacked a minibar and a kettle for making tea, which would have been convenient. Additionally, the windows could have been better soundproofed – even when closed, it was difficult to fall asleep without earplugs due to the noise. Another drawback was the service at the breakfast area – one of the staff members did not seem very friendly or helpful, and gave the impression that guests were more of a nuisance than welcome...
Our stay at the hotel was pleasant. One of the main advantages was a perfect location – the metro station was very close by, and you could easily reach the Old Town on foot. Breakfast was good, and I especially appreciated the option to make fresh waffles in the morning. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, which made our stay even more enjoyable.

PakistanWhile the hotel itself is excellent, there are some suspicious individuals who gather near the local shops and sit in walking areas, which made us feel somewhat uncomfortable
Ambiance: The hotel's Japanese theme was beautifully executed and created an authentic, tranquil atmosphere. It truly felt like being transported to Japan - a unique and memorable experience that set this hotel apart from typical accommodations. Room: Super comfortable accommodations that perfectly matched the Japanese aesthetic. The room was well-designed and provided a peaceful retreat after busy days of sightseeing. Clean: The hotel maintained excellent cleanliness standards throughout our stay, which was very much appreciated. Staff & Service: The reception staff and hotel team were exceptionally helpful and went above and beyond for guests. Special mention to a lovely lady from Magnolia (wish I remembered her name!) who was incredibly kind and accommodating. When we requested an extra bed, it was provided as a complimentary service - excellent customer care. Location: Outstanding location with easy walking access to the city center and Brussels' Manhattan business district. The Yser metro station is directly in front of the hotel, making transportation extremely convenient for exploring the city.

North MacedoniaOne of the towels had dry blood like stains on it. There were two types of pillows and both of them were extremely uncomfortable. The hotel is right on a main street so you could really hear the traffic.
The staff is really friendly. It's close to the center. The room smelled nice and well conditioned The mattress was great. The toiletries were really fine. Bathroom - nice and clean.

United StatesThere was no tea service and the coffee maker didn’t work. The main problem was the WiFi was weak, and I missed a mandatory zoom meeting - I read Brussels had excellent WiFi so I was surprised. It was also loud with traffic and sirens at night at times.

Switzerland- The room was a bit noisy as it was facing a street with lots of traffic. - The parking lots are in a private car park around the corner. The parking lots are very narrow, so I would not recommend it for bigger cars (e.g., SUVs).
The staff was very friendly, the hotel was clean & modern, the breakfast buffet nice. The location is also good - if you don't mind walking a bit, it is easy to reach the historic center (Grote Markt) within ~15 minutes.

United StatesThe glass door in bathroom was not properly sealed so the shower was an issue. The first night we accidentally flooded the bathroom. Staff was attentive and helpful but after that we had to carefully shower without making a water mess. If you are not a city dweller this place is not close to many restaurants and the area is so.. so.. after hours.
great size room, friendly staff, clean room, Smart TV with accessible channels -- very walkable to city center
