Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing I didn’t like, if anything as a light sleeper I couldn’t sleep with the noise of the mini fridge in the bedroom and I had to unplug it for the night. Otherwise it was all good, I was sad to leave.
Great location, friendly hosts, spotlessly clean room, very comfortable bed, homely environment with funky, colourful decor and Disney characters throughout the property, nice pond and outdoor seating area, good breakfast, although I would have preferred a buffet breakfast or to choose the items the night before as I could not eat the cold meats (I am vegetarian), yoghurt or some of the cheeses and fruit the host had kindly prepared for each guest.

United KingdomWe appreciate the guest house is themed but we did think there was a bit too much clutter.
The property is in a very good location in the town with free parking possible on the road outside from 6.00pm to 9.00am (2 hours with a disc in the daytime). It is an easy walk in to the town square, its bars and restaurants and to the Menin Gate. We were in the Candy room which had a comfortable bed and a powerful shower. The owners are very welcoming and we thought it wonderful to be able to sit outside in their garden during the lovely hot weather. We could have used their hot tub too (but chose not to). Breakfast was good with fruit, yogurt, bread, pastries, cheese etc and there was a good coffee machine too. We stayed two nights and the breakfast was slightly different each day. We thought it good value and would recommend.

United KingdomNothing really, there are no ensuite facilities in the room, but the bathroom was next door, so this wasn't an issue for us.
Fantastic location right in the centre of Ieper. The main square and Menin gate are an easy walk. Our hosts were very helpful and friendly, explaining the facilities and provided a local parking disc to help with car parking. The breakfasts were plentiful and fresh. Our room was very spacious. The hot tub was an added bonus too.

United KingdomThere was nothing we didn’t like.
We loved everything! Breakfast was amazing, something different and unique every single day. My daughter loved the board games and the swing chair in the garden and we all loved the hot tub. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The property’s location couldn’t have been any better either, it’s right in the city centre. Amazing place all around. Very child friendly too. My daughter even got a chocolate cat on arrival and another one when we left and she was given a big teddy to play with for the duration of our stay. Lovely family holiday. Thank you.

United KingdomI absolutely couldn’t find any fault with this B&B. We will 100% be back.
The breakfast was amazing everyday! Our host Joseline was absolutely fantastic, extremely kind, informative and welcoming. She provided us with a beautiful breakfast every morning with bonus pancakes, bacon and eggs. The jacuzzi was set in a beautiful garden with a koi pond. The location was perfect too, a 5 minute walk from the Grand Place so it was ideal, and free parking was available just a 5 minute walk from the b&b but you can also park right outside for 30 minutes to unload your suitcases if you need. It was easter weekend when we stayed and we got a visit from the Easter Bunny on Sunday who gave us belgian chocolate easter eggs!

United KingdomNothing, everything was great.
Colourful quirky decor throughout the property, with great amenities including a pretty outdoor seating area with a pond, a Jacuzzi and sauna. We stayed in the 'Chocolate' room which was very stylish in decor. Comfortable bed and large modern shower room. Breakfast was amazing! Very tasty, fresh and lots of variety. Especially the scrambled eggs. The family who lives there are very nice and happy to provide information on the local area. There is free car parking at the train station, a short walk away. Also a perfect location to walk into the town centre for shops, restaurants, museum, and the Menin Gate (we recommend the Calinor chocolaterie nearby. You can see them making their own chocolate and it's very yummy!) We would definitely stay here again.

United KingdomOur hosts were fantastic. Friendly and warm, and very helpful. They were available most of the time and always welcomed us with a broad smile. Breakfast was delicious with a variety of choices and different options available each morning, from homemade jams, banana pancakes, or boiled eggs to the state of art fruit salad served on your plate to begin with. Served to accommodate our schedule, which was a massive bonus, in a charming dining room with many beautiful christmas decorations. The entire house was meticulously decorated to the tiniest detail, which just added to its original charm. The outdoor garden with a small pond, jacuzzi, and different seating sections was so welcoming that we couldn't resist spending some time there, having a meal in the evening, regardless of winter weather. Our bedroom (Poppy room) was lovely and comfortable for 3 people (we travelled with our teen daughter), had everything you need, and most importantly, the most comfortable beds I slept in, while away. Property located perfectly within few minutes walk to the city centre in a quiet street. We visited in December, so everywhere we went, it was beautifully decorated with christmas lights.

Fabulous host, very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast exceptional- so much choice from breads, yogurt, fresh fruit, eggs if you want, cereal, cheese, ham and she catered for me with gluten and dairy free intolerances also, which I really appreciated. We all loved use of the hot tub, a great extra treat and way to unwind in the beautiful garden. Our poppy themed room was lovely & all the colourful artwork around the house. We got free parking after 6pm right by B&B and host gives you overnight parking pass to get free till 11am the next day. Selection of games available. Access to a range of hot drinks and snacks at any time downstairs. Very convenient for visiting Ypres as only one street away from main square with lots of places to eat. Captain Cook and Depot were nice to eat at. Recommend the Flanders Field Musuem and adjacent Yper Musuem & Last poat at Menin Gate at 8pm. We visited Cot Tyne Cemetary and the Yorkshire trenches, but lots you can visit in the area. Nearby Kortrijk nice too for short visit. Highly recommend & would love to visit again in the future. Thank you.
