Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsOverall, our stay was great, but here are some areas of improvement: The double bed was two beds next to each other, and the mattresses were super wobbly and kept moving/sliding, so there was a noticeable gap in the middle, which was quite uncomfortable. The walls are also a bit thin; you could hear people coming and going in the hallway rather loudly, and we also had some noise from people talking in other rooms, which was a bit annoying past 10 pm. In the bathroom, it would be better to have a shower with doors instead of curtains, would be more hygienic. I also missed a kettle to drink a cup of tea at night, and it would also be great to have a vending machine in our building, ideally one that takes cards. Another great thing would be to have blackout shades (not only curtains) and nigh lamps with softer, warmer light.
The staff is super friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and the bathroom was comfortable. Breakfast was great, with many options. We also appreciate that there was a crib ready upon request, with a mattress (as otherwise the camping beds are too hard and can be unsafe for babies). The location was great, only a 10-minute walk to the city center/beach area, with lots of restaurants. And just want to highlight that the staff was amazing, we really liked the hotel, and would come back and recommend to others.

RussiaIn that hotel there are different buildings, pay attention to that, maybe ask the hotel! We were putted to another adress, not far away, but we haven't known that in advance Bar is usually not working in evening No teapot in the room, not enough heating, it was rather cold in June
Nice room, rather old furniture, but in good condition. Good breakfast, even if you come near the end, you have a variety of options, personeel make a refill. Good location, not far away from beach, but near the station. Good system of leaving belongings before check-in or after check-out, you can get them even if personel aready gone. Cozy lounge zone, during the day you can order some drinks there (and during evenings in some dates, haven't understand that moment). You can also order a dinner here, we haven't use that option, but it is rather useful

A 2* rating underestimates this hotel. Privately owned and managed - it shows. Friendly helpful staff which adequate English spoken. Interior design of public areas exceptional. Our room generous and comfortable. Hotel spotlessly clean. Good buffet breakfast. Location in city excellent - very close to station, tram, and city centre. Also hotel had private parking.

NetherlandsSound insulation could be improved in the doors and in the rooms at the street side. Curtains don’t block out the sunlight. Blackout curtains would be helpful. Breakfast was basic compared to our experiences elsewhere. It could benefit from more variety.
The location is good. Everything we wanted is on the same street (Kerkstraat), all the way to the beach. The staff was very helpful and understanding. Thank you. Very clean facility. Very family friendly and welcoming. It even has a children playground across the backstreet.

GermanyThe service during breakfast was terrible and very unpleasant. A request for coffee or a question about the menu was met with rolling eyes and loud sighs.
Very professional, German-speaking and friendly service during check-in at the hotel. Good location on the main artery of the city, relatively close to the main promenade and the beach (15 minutes’ walk), and a horrendously expensive parking lot (36€ per day). The room was clean, the bathroom and toilet too.

GermanyThe rooms we stayed in were located next to a busy main street, and while the curtains provided sufficient privacy, I would have preferred shutters for better light control, especially when the sun shines through. The room itself could have been more spacious, though this wouldn't be an issue if you're spending most of your time outside.
Sabot D'Or is ideally located just a short walk from the train station, making it incredibly convenient for exploring nearby towns. The beach and shopping center are also within walking distance, adding to the ease of access. Breakfast was not only delicious but also accompanied by excellent service, and the staff were consistently friendly and welcoming. The water temperature in the shower was well-adjusted, ensuring a comfortable experience at any time. Additionally, the room’s heating and Internet service were both reliable and efficient.
