Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RussiaWonderful place to stay! Cozy interiors, great location, friendly staff. Amazing breakfast! Very comfortable beds, spacious room and bathroom. Daily rooms cleaning, which was unexpected but in a good way :) Railway station is in 5 minutes walk, as well as the strand. Definitely recommend. ❤️

AustraliaOur room for three persons (room 2) was great, with the single bed being in it's own room, and with a spacious terrace overlooking the garden. The garden was a secure place to store our bikes. Breakfast was good.

BelgiumIt was a collection of the old properties that combined together with the couloir . They had preserved the old furniture without taking care of it, for example, without applying varnish. It would be better decorated with a little smaller objets because the européen rooms are potentially small. The room was small for us . The amenities minimum.
Friendly staff, good location, good breakfast. A nice Robot that brings the plates to the washing room . A beautiful garden that could be better maintained and used, but the seagulls might have made it dirty.

BelgiumCan't think of anything in particular.
Everything about it. It is still the most authentic and generous hotel on the Belgian coastline.

BelgiumHotel location is in the middle of the center. A couple of minutes from the beach. Close to shops and places to eat. Easy access from the train station. The hotel has retro vibes but it is very clean. The staff in charge was also friendly. Most of all the breakfast included was superb and lots of choices.

United KingdomMattresses too soft and once my husband fell out of bed! For a local 3-star family run establishment could have presented bit more welcoming signs like smile, greetings... + NO control over your room temperature, the air-conditioner just for 2 months/year, seasonal operationally only? Insufficient lightings, none in front of dressing mirror (plug impossible to connect at inner wall!) and weak over bathtub. Tiny hand soap bar for shower/bath? Colour tone of cushions of typical Belgian style - dark and uninviting! Perhaps a picture or 2 helps to liven up?
Good spread of breakfast with lots of choices. Nice and quiet with soft music at background. Excellent location.

GermanyNo negative criticism, but it is noticeable that in the adjoining rooms the stylishly charming details of historic hotel architecture are difficult to preserve over time and yet still integrate current standards.
friendly operators, right in the centre on a beautiful city centre square for this otherwise concrete coastal town. Friendly operators. Historic hotel with an ingenious, varied breakfast. We would even like to have the quality of the bread at home.

NetherlandsIn general was a positive experience.
The breakfast was very tasty and diverse. One of the best from this point of view. The room was ok, and we had also a small terrace. The furniture on the terrase was old and dated (and quite damaged and dirty). Otherwise, the room was normal, they refurbished some old furniture to create a shabby design. The bathroom was quite small, maybe a little difficult to use for someone overweight or with mobility problems.

My husband and I both love to soak in a hot bath. The bathtub was definitely a plus point. The buffet breakfast was excellent- it had everything you can imagine. The building itself is a beautiful old place; they don't build them like that anymore. The owners/managers are very friendly and helpful. The location couldn't be better, it's right in the center.

BelgiumIt's hard to find something not to like. Maybe the bathroom is somewhat tiny, but one gets used to it. Outside, like most of the Belgian coastline, Blankenberge has a disproportionate number of high appartement buildings, literally overshadowing and mutilating its once great Belle Epoque character. But that makes the Manitoba such a cosy oasis to come back to at the end of the day.
After a short walk from the railway station, the promising front view of the hotel is confirmed by its cosy lobby and interior which take one back in time. The vintage interior also features some discrete funny accents. Rooms offer enough space and beds are comfortable. The very friendly staff spare no trouble to serve a very rich and relax breakfast buffet in a spacious and comfortable room, offering a nice garden view on one side. The seafront also is just a short walk away and plenty of restaurants can be found in the immediate vicinity. Outstanding!
