Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The house shows little signs of aging, but that did not bother us at all. It actually adds charm.
The house is amazing with a lot of history and the location is perfect, lots of hiking trails start literally from the backyard (or close by). The garden is beautiful and incredibly silent. The view from the garden is so relaxing, over the valley and hills. The village is small but there are sufficient dinner options around. Very kind owner, seamless check-in, excellent breakfast.

There is not much to do in the hotel! If you want to go for dinner you have to go 1,5km in town.
The bed was super comfy! It‘s a very cosy B&B! The breakfast was nice and had a lot to offer.

Beautiful place with big double room for the family, very comfy. The host was very nice and breakfast was delicious. We will come back in summer to enjoy more the surroundings.

The room got quite hot in the evening and it was just a bit too warm to sleep in for our taste. This was happening while it was only 25 degrees (Celsius) outside, so not even extremely hot. The rooms are not fitted with A/C (which is fine) but the owners also don't have a fan available to help create some circulation in the room. I think this could be an easy fix.
B&B run by a couple in a great location close to Roche-en-Ardenne, Houffalize & Bastogne. The property is located at the top of a valley and gives you an amazing view. The garden has a small playground that our 2 year old really enjoyed. Upon our request, an additional bed was placed in the room for our toddler to sleep on.

We stayed for one night on our way home from Germany. The host was very friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious, comfortable and clean. The bed was king size with a high quality matras. The ensuite bathroom was clean and well equipped. The breakfast was excellent. Parking available and e few restaurants nearby. Pity about the rainy weather otherwise we could have enjoyed the terrace outside and the views.

There is no restaurant in the venue, and we struggled to find a restaurant nearby - admittedly it was a busy Easter period. Spacious bathroom with all facilities we needed. Only downside there was that the toilet started leaking at one point. I'm sure this is fixed now.
Excellent location. Very nice, spacious rooms. The breakfast was superb. Whilst no bar was available, there was a nice selection of drinks available for self service. This venue is a perfect starting point to explore the many outdoor activities in the area.

not a thing really, if I’m gonna be picky it would be that the windows in the room were too high to really enjoy the view.
right along the long distance trail along side the Ourthe this B&B has the perfect location for a hiking holiday. great breakfast, nice host.

Nothing really
Les Alisiers is located in a small village in the Belgian Ardennes. It makes for a nice base to explore the surrounding area. The room was very nice and spacious. The breakfast was excellent.
