The shower is over a roll top bath without a curtain. It looks nice but isn't practical. The room we were in wasn't that large and the noise from the washing machines upstairs was very loud. In fairness we only experienced the noise in the evening and for a short period. The noise from the room next door disturbed us during the night so we didn't sleep well. There was a kettle but no cups, coffee or tea.

The breakfast was wonderful, with a great selection to choose from and the young lady who served breakast and seemed to run the place was great. Very attentive and very helpful . The bed was very comfortable.

Everything was perfect about La Maison d’Hôtes. We arrived very late by car, were greeted by Gregoir, who explained everything and served some "roadtrip" local beer. Everything was so harmonic about this boutique hotel: nice lavish breakfast, homemade bakeries, design, welcoming attitude and playroom & playground for our 3-year old daughter. Next time we go to Pairi Daiza, we definitely stay at La Maison d’Hôtes.

Everything was great

Booked two rooms, one for us and one for my in-laws as we planned to visit Pairi Diaza. Location is simply perfect if you’d like to visit the zoo, only 10 minutes drive. We travelled with our 21-month old toddler, who enjoyed the wonderful outdoor playground and indoor play area very much. Super friendly hosts, food is outstanding, the hotel itself has a 1930’ vibe. Hope to be back!

We had a lovely time staying here. The hosts were so welcoming and friendly, and really made us feel at home — especially important as we were travelling with our 1-year-old daughter. The house is beautifully decorated, really peaceful and comfortable, with a big garden and large toy room. Our room was super comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean. Both dinner and breakfast were fresh and amazing too. It’s such a relaxing and family-friendly place, and you can tell a lot of love and care has gone into it. We only stayed one night as we were travelling to Pairi Daiza, but we’d definitely love to come back one day!

I really can't think of anything!

I was in Silly for a family celebration nearby on 21 April. The La Maison d'Hotes was a perfect location for this but you never quite know what you will find until you get to a place especially during an Easter weekend. As it was I found myself staying in a splendidly decorated house with I imagine some history though now with every modern convenience. My room was large and comfortable with everything I could possibly need. Breakfast in the morning was to put it mildly, 'lavish' - prepared ad served with care and taken in a beautifully furnished dining room. Though I was out during most of my time in Silly, the family run La Maison d'Hotes made an outstanding base. For future trips I will always wish to stay there.

The owners are absolutely helpful and attentive. You feel right at home. The hotel is decorated in a beautiful French country house style, exactly as seen in the photos. The food is delicious an meets our expectations exactly. The beds are very comfortable. If we travel to Belgien again we book there again. Thank you very much.

There were some traces of previous water damage in the room and bathroom that needed further repairs. It didn't bother us, but it can be offsetting to some travellers.

We travelled with 3 month old child. The owner did a lot to accommodate us with a late check in, cot, high chair and microwave. The room was spacious and clean. We slept very well after a long day Pairi Daiza.

All was great.

We loved the house, it's style and characteristic features. They have a nice garden and restaurant as well (open thu and fri). The room was comfortable and big. We received a warm welcome with good tips for a place to have dinner. Breakfast was a real treat with some of their own baked goods and fresh ingredients.

Nothing, as for us the stay was perfect! The only small thing to mention would be that we would have liked to have eaten an evening meal at their restaurant, but unfortunately Mon- Weds the restaurant is not available in the evenings. Not a problem if you have transport, as other places nearby.

Everything was fantastic! The hosts were superb. Greg and his wife went above and beyond to make our stay a memorable one. Great location, quiet, near to a local supermarket, the best zoo we have ever been to, local train station which has a great link to Brussels. The breakfast was great with locally sourced produce, with homemade jams and bread. The hotel itself was beautifully decorated and our room was exceptional. Looking forward to returning in the future.

Very friendly host, who immediately showed us our room and offered us to recommend some places for dinner (as we arrived late in the afternoon). We had dinner elsewhere, but dessert back at Maison d’Hotes and it was brilliant. The room was spacious, soundproof and very clean. The whole ambiance of the property was just lovely and also the breakfast we had in the morning was very good.

The restaurant, like most of the restaurants in town was only open for dinner on weekends which made it difficult to get an evening meal.

Rooms were cozy, quiet and clean, breakfast was excellent with home made pastries, preserves and delicious cheeses. The hosts went out their way to make sure you had everything you needed for your stay

The breakfast was excellent. The bread and croissants were absolutely delicious. We really appreciated the home made jams. The breakfast room where the breakfast was served was beautiful. The whole place feels very homley and cosy the level of decoration is ecxeptional. Unfortunately we were there when the bakey was shut but I can imagnie it being fantastic when it's open. The beds were also comfortable and we had a good night sleep. Dog friendly place which was an absolute bonus for us. I highly recommend this place :-)

This place deserves a 9: the location, the house, the rooms, the garden. So, why did I only give a 7? There were way too many things that were missing or wrongly organised. The constant 'oh, this is again not O.K.' gave an uncomfortable feeling. Strange, because it considered standard things, not difficult to do well. I'm still wondering what went wrong in the organisation: not enough staff that day? an unexpected problem? a beginning organiser in charge that day? Anyway, a bit a pity for us, hopefully an exception not encountered by other guests...

We could feel the humidity in the room, and it was cold when we arrived. The heat was probably not on for some days. No extra blankets available.

Beautiful place, good bedroom size. Quiet area but close to eating places. We only stayed one night and had only breakfast which was excellent.
