Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomApart from a couple of stools in reception there is no lounge area. The lift was often busy. Finally we had asked the hotel to reserve us a table for dinner at Cafe du Parc on the first evening. Although the hotel advised they had passed on our request the restaurant had no record of our reservation which was disappointing. They did however manage to find us a table.
Loved the traditional feel of this hotel in a superb central location close to the sea. Well appointed clean rooms and helpful and welcoming staff. I thought the drinking water in the foyer was a nice touch. A very decent continental breakfast was served in the adjoining Cafe du Parc.

United KingdomIt would have been nice to have a view- the corridor leading to the rooms and the restricted courtyard view made it feel a little claustrophobic as there was no natural light
The breakfast was excellent and we loved the bar !

BelgiumToilet not properly separated from room and next to the bed, very strong burnt coffee smell in the room on the 6th floor as of 7 in the morning so air circulates directly between kitchen and rioms upstairs

BelgiumThere could be a little bit more attention to food intolerances at breakfast. It’s good that there is already some oat milk, but a plantbased yoghurt option or a modest glutenfree offering in cereal or rolls would be a nice plus.
The rooms are small, but comfortable, renovated with a sense of authenticity but still catering to modern comfort. I like the breakfast buffet, the essentials but with a twist.

BelgiumNot so important but the reception is tiny, if it were a majestic entry hall, then this hotel could be a 5* No really no other bad remarks to make... Parking in Ostend is not cheap, so better leave car outside city center.
Beautiful art deco building, freshed up and spotless new luxury bathrooms... Couldn't be much better really! Location at a popular square, no trouble of noise.

BelgiumThe famous café, downstairs, has been kept fairly intact but "crowd management" messes up the tranquil atmosphere for which the place used to be appreciated. Staff is very friendly; the dishes are tasty. Picking a table in the second part of the area?
The renovated rooms, all done in very good taste. Bright corridors. Soft color schemes in the room. Excellent materials have been used (Dornbracht faucets, ... ). Comfortable beds and soft linens/towels; Marie Stella Maris soaps. Helpful and kind people at the reception. (On NY day, the lady took the time to check several restaurants to make secure a table for me).

GermanyMy one and only negative point is the BREAKFAST. Don't spend your money on it - you will find better breakfast options "around the corner". Not only was the offer limited, dishes not washed properly and general chaos at the breakfast buffet. What shocked me the most was attitude of the staff. Regularly cleaning tables with their hand (letting the pieces fall on the floor), and then grabbing a croissant, looking at it, putting it back in the basket, grabbing another one, putting it back, to finally take a bread roll. There were wooden forks to pick up the rolls and hotel guests were using them. There were still around 8-10 hotel guests in the breakfast room at that time. Staff was hanging around and not taking any initiative to help the chaos on the buffet. There was no coffee left at 10:00 and nobody bothered to make more, the juice was from the day before. It just does not go in pair with the quality of the hotel and with a level of the restaurant.
We loved the interior, the location of the hotel, and its cosy rooms. Fantastic shower, good beds. We recommend the restaurant in the hotel for dinner - great quality, good culinaire ideas, excellent service. The reception personnel was very friendly and helpful. A good selection of folders about Ostend at the foyer.

BelgiumThere was an unpleasant smell coming from the pipes in the bathroom, but otherwise the room was very clean.
The hotel is well positioned and classy. We loved the terrace (it’s only on the second floor). The bed was nice.

United KingdomI think the provision of paper cups for coffee disappointing. To call a room as having a courtyard view (room 408) stretches the imagination
Admired the new interior decor and facilities. Have been staying at Hotel du Parc for over 20 years so was a little nostalgic for the old place.

Belgium-The children's bed was paid, which is not a problem for 10 EUR, but for a classy hotel that really should be included -Check-in hours could be more generous
-Great traditional hotel with architectural and cultural significance -Very good brasserie (same location where breakfast is served) -Nice and functional rooms, although not very spacey -Very friendly service, both in the hotel and the brasserie -Great location in the center of Ostende next to the Kurhaus, underground paid parking is available couple of meters away
