Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAs the hotel is right next to the train and bus stations you will hear some noise.
The location was great for the purpose of my trip and this hotel is affordable. The room was small, but the size of room doesn’t really bother me. It also doesn’t bother me of things are a bit worn down or old. However, what does bother me is insufficient cleaning and this time, unlike last time I visited, the shared areas and room could do with a some improvement in cleaning routine. This also goes for providing clean kettles, fans etc. The bed was comfortable. Staff were friendly and welcoming.

United KingdomIt overlooks the Place de la Gare therefore is noisy at night and from early morning. The trains start early.
It overlooks the Place de la Gare. It is near the centre. There are bars all around. The guys helped get my motorbike safely off the street and secure. Good guys. Very helpful.

NetherlandsRight next to the train and bus station. It's a run down place. But it's only two stars after all. I hope they continue the reconstruction work they started downstairs. That looked good. Room doors need a paint job and better finishing work. The top stair steps need realignment. Sheet had a stain. Bathroom is small. I had to swat down multiple mosquitos and a fly on arrival. So I kept the tilt window closed. Even though there's no plain source for them in sight on the street.
Right next to the train and bus station. The Belgian owner was friendly. Shower was good.

NetherlandsThe host was very friendly and attentive. We could fit our bikes in the storage and that was a plus ! The hotel is basic but comfortable. We were a bit worried about tha noise from the trains but the isolation worked out fine. No problem with that. The breakfast was good, not crazy with so much you couldn't eat. Just the basic ( Fine ! ) stuff

Location was good with restaurants and cafés on hand , it is alongside the railway so some train noise is inevitable. Mt

NetherlandsToilet seat and wastebin broken. Mainly clean, but edges and corners dirty At breakfast the waiter had an argument with a guest, can t say who was right, i guess if guests think there is free beer in a 5 euro breakfast they are not realistic. But it was disturbing.to eat and listen to this. The waiter was really friendly to us. Bread at breakfast was dry ( old?)
The beds were good Considering you pay 5 euro for breakfast, not too bad. ( bread was dry though) Nice staff If i needed to stay at aalst for 1 night i would book tbis hotel again

PolandThe room and bathroom were really small. There was no hairdryer in the bathroom. During our stay room was cleaned once. I booked the room with breakfast, but the breakfast was below standard. On 2nd floor wi-fi didn't work. The building is old and loud - we could hear each time someone opened the door and entered into the room.
The staff was very nice and helpful but they had language problems. Considering the location (near the train station and the bus stops) there was not so noisy during the night. It's good price if you need only bed to sleep after whole day of sightseeing ;)

HungaryIt’s not so clean, the door made a noise that probably woke up everybody on the floor. They had left the window open so when I arrived at the hotel, it was freezing cold in the room. There was no hairdryer in the bathroom. Getting in the location with ringing a bell and waiting in front of the front door to be opened by staff is not convenient. The staff continuously were asking who I am and till when I am staying.
Cozy bed, gratis breakfast. Good location in the center. The elevator is super useful and super retro. The staff were kind but had language problems.

location was good. the problem was parking. I ticked parking & wi-fi when I booked in the internet. But when we get to the area they don't have a parking space and the receptionist told us that we can park but we have to pay. we we're shocked as I requested for parking. anyway, we arrived around 5pm and we have to pay 2 hrs (5pm-7pm free till 9am the following day).

NetherlandsThe breakfast was mid but overall it was a good stay
Its clean, they have a nice shower and the staff is friendly. Only the breakfast is a bit mid. Its definitely with the money and the location is perfect, just know that your next to a train station and a lot of different people come there, it has nothing to do with the hotel. But just keep it in mind. This was my second time being a happy guest
