The shower takes a bit of organising ,as it one bedroom, but we knew that when we booked.

Our host was extremely kind and responded to questions. Giving good recommendations. The kitchen and house on the whole was well equipped and was very comfortable. The location is superb for visiting Bruges. A short walk from everywhere, but quiet. One can catch a bus to the train station from one road away.

No soap in the toilet sink for washing hands, and almost none in the bathroom sink. The bathroom has no door and adjoins the master bedroom, which proved challenging logistically for two adults and two teenage kids to navigate shower and dressing arrangements. Even a basic curtain across the bathroom enclosure for privacy would help.

Everything was perfect. The stairs are a little steep, but that seems to be the norm in Bruges. There were some beautiful Christmas ornaments dotted around which added to the ambiance. The owner called round after we had let him know we had arrived, just to check everything was ok. We would choose this property again ourselves.

We would give this property 8.5 out of 10 (maybe 9). Some things cannot be changed - a 3 story house near the centre of Bruges has limits! For example, a small shared toilet on the landing, or having to access the shower through a bedroom. Not a problem at all for a family, although there is no door or curtain on the shower. The listing had some unusual things mentioned that weren't part of the apartment - for example, there is no hot tub and no balcony (there is a 3x2m enclosed outdoor area downstairs at the back of the house) and there is no coffee shop on-site. Some tiny things in the kitchen would be helpful, e.g. hooks to hang up dish towels. We also couldn't get the toaster to work. We also wished there was a guest book with basic instructions (e.g. the heating and how to use the microwave/oven, which is quite small, and more information about what can and can't be recycled) and it would have been nice to leave a thank you message with tips for the next guests. The main beds were a kind of foam mattress that you sunk into, but we slept well regardless. We would have liked a headboard for the bed, as it's against a stone wall. We didn't meet the host Raphael, but he left his number if needed. These negatives did not spoil an excellent holiday and we would return to this property in a heartbeat.

The location of this property is perfect. Only a few minutes walk away from the centre of Bruges, and a 5 min walk from a local supermarket by the canal. Yet also private enough to be quiet and removed from the centre. We couldn't have asked for better. Inside, the property is beautiful. Set over 3 floors (toilet on middle floor landing), with two bedrooms (the shower and sink are ensuite for the large middle bedroom, therefore the upstairs bedroom guests need to walk through the middle floor bedroom to use it), and a good sitting area, dining area and small kitchen. Main bedroom had super king size (2 singles together). There is a (tiny) outdoor area and plenty of light. Having a door access code meant we didn't have to stress about keys. There were 2 TVs and the wifi was reasonably good. We didn't use them but there were also a couple of bikes. Lots of glasses, cutlery and a dishwasher too. A coffee machine, kettle, fridge (no freezer) and little oven/microwave was all we needed. It also felt a very safe area. It only took us around 20-30 mins to walk to the station with our luggage, through beautiful cobbled streets. We visited in October when it was between 14 - 22C, so had no problems with being hot or cold.

We have no dislikes. We were comfy and very happy with the accommodations.

Easy walks to all locations. This apartment was comfortable and a lovely place to land after the hustle and bustle of Brussels. My family wanted to stay longer than the 3 nights we had booked. Our host, Raphael, was wonderful too. He checked in on us to make sure we were doing well and had great answers to our questions. We had a wonderful time in Bruges and would highly recommend Hamiltonhouse.

With 2 teenage girls another toilet /shower would have been handy but this really didn’t impact our stay, we just had to be organised in mornings!

Excellent property with lots of space and all facilities needed. Rafael was a great host and very responsive. We stayed as family of four with two teens, and had plenty space between us. Very comfy beds, great cooking and kitchen facilities and relaxing living space. Also perfect location for the town - 10 -15 mins walk from market square, shops, bars etc, but also situated in quiet street so no noise. Would definitely book this house again.

Spiral stairs are steep, so be advised. Watch little ones and elderly. I loved the charm and character of the staircase, but I have balance issues. Just know to be cautious.

The location was central to the town, yet on a much quieter street. Great access to grocery, bridges, restaurants and all sites. The apartment was immaculate and very well maintained. The furnishings and decor were welcoming and stylish. The pictures don't do it justice. The host was accessible and did not put a lot of demands on departure--so easy!

It felt like we were living in a friend's home. It was comfortable and complete . All the little details extra towels etc even though not needed was most appreciated. A very cozy feel with all the amenities of home. Quiet zone very close to the centre.

A lovely property situated within 5 mins walking of the main square in Bruges. Central to lots of great eateries and bars and yet a very quiet location. Feels like a home from home. Raphael was very welcoming.
