How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

It was very warm at night. Even on a cool summerday. Felt like the heating was on at night.
Friendly people. You can store your bicycles behind the reception or in your room. The room was very spacious. Clean and comfy bed. Clean bathroom. Good en delicious breakfast buffet. Late check out time.

A bit expensive for what you get. Without breakfast e 110 per night.
Nice hotel, great location. On walking distance to the beautiful and surprising grand place. The receptionist told us that on weekends it is an option to avoid the steep e 15 parking fee by parking around the hotel which is free. Very friendly and great service

No air conditioning in the room. Bathroom: sanitaries very old with accumulation of residues (yellow calcarium). Although daily cleaning is ok. No single coversheet in the bed. Only a duvet for the cold weather.

Probably nothing much with the hotel, yet: surprising number of flies! This is getting annoying during the nights.
THe hotel is located at walking distance from the university, and equally far from the center of Mons, ideal location for a business trip to the university. Staff members are friendly and helpful, great feeling. The free coffee at the hotel front is also very welcome.

Booked 2 parking spaces for 4 motorcycles. However 1 space was sufficient and 2 members of reception team were unable to process a refund for the unused space Out of 4 rooms booked only 1 room had decent air conditioning. 1 had no A/C at all, and 2 others had A/C that provided insufficient cooling. Lift rated for 6 people however not clear that only 2 people could use the lift. Only once I the lift and 4 of us got stuck did we notice the sign. Pressing the alarm button was pointless as we later found out reception assumed the lift was being worked on despite it being 7pm on a Sunday evening
Location was good and rooms were a good size with comfortable beds

Parking garage was extremely tight to navigate. Some rooms did not have AC.
Location was within a few minutes walk to the centre of town and restaurants.

The staff on the front desk were useless. It took over 50 minutes to book in. They couldn’t find our reservations, even though I had all the reservation details. The room we got put in was ok but our friends were put on an attic floor amidst the decorators . Luckily we were only staying one night. Room was cleanish, but the toilet hadn’t been flushed from whoever used it last. Breakfast was average with minimal choices.

Only one bedroom out of two we occupied had air conditioning. The room without ac was very hot as were the corridors inside the building.

Breakfast was rather disappointing with very limited "continental" choices. The scrambled eggs were consistently overcooked and the bacon was greasy. The garage floor was a death-trap for motorcyclists but it was good to have secure parking for the motorcycles.
Room was a good size and well appointed. Location was good - a short walk from La Grande Place and easily accessible by road.

Initially I got a room that was not prepared, but was immediately given a new room.
