How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

We like everything !
Martine, our host was so welcoming ;) The accommodation was a gem , lots of family history in the barn .

Breakfast was excellent. Although the location was surrounded by houses, the property was an oasis. It was about twenty minutes walk to the town & the railway station, where you can travel to Ghent & Brussels. (If yoy are over 65 you and travel for 8.50 euros return.) Free parking is such a good bonus. There is also a supermarket 5 mins walk away.

Located in an urban area 20 mins walk to the town center.
Great apartment, clean and well equipped. Charming and helpful host. Excellent continental breakfast served in an lovely breakfast room. Very comfortable and enjoyable. Secure parking on site.

This place is well located and amazingly clean. Great quality for all the facilities. Living room, bedroom, kitchenette, toilet and shower… Fridge with drinks, including complementary welcome drink… The rest you have to pay… The host, Martine, excessively courteous and caring lady… It was slightly raining in the morning. So I had my breakfast in the main property living room. Exceptionally big lounge with natural lights from outside through the wide glass windows and doors… I wish I could spent more time… Free parking!!!!

Everything was perfect
This is an excellent place, beautifully furnished and immaculately clean. Martine the Host was extremely accommodating, overall it was a very pleasant day and I will be sure to be returning sometime soon!

Should have stayed longer and seen more of Aalst!
A very tranquil stopover, great hostess who made us all very welcome. Breakfast was cooked to order and unrushed. Beds very comfortable and apartment spotless. Lovely courtyard for relaxing in, shame we didn't have more time.

There was nothing to not like.
Overall excellent place. Martine is the perfect host, friendly and informative, and happy to talk should you wish. The accommodation is to a very high standard and very well equipped. There is a lovely courtyard, which is a Tranquil place for breakfast, or just to relax, on a nice day. Parking is secure on site and also has a covered charging bay for 2 electic cars.The two dogs, Duval and Chiuffe, are so cute and friendly, although Martine keeps them out of the way if guests prefer. We would definitely revisit.

Everything was perfect!

No dislikes at all
Cannot recommend this b&b more highly. Accommodation was superb, very secure and such a wonderful fresh breakfast. Martine the owner was fantastic, so helpful. In fact it was like having a tour guide. Thank you so much for making our trip so enjoyable. Will definitely return.

Nothing really. We would perhaps recommend a bit more wall decoration in the apartment and some softer cotton for the bed sheets.
Location: very peaceful, with some green around the property, yet in the middle of the nice city of Aalst, and very easy to reach. Wonderful hostess, already from pre-arrival and throughout. Great facilities with everything very clean, functional and new. Great shower! And it is a unique additional benefit to have a charge point for the car battery.

Minor: the house itself is great, but located in a residential area.
Kind host, felt welcome immediately. Very clean, quiet, modern and spatious room. Breakfast was delicious! Prepared on the spot! Good value for money.

Possibly a little explanation of the difficulty of finding Lindenstraat.
Difficult to find. Less than 20 minutes walk from town.
