Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe had some issues with the pool as there was a changeover in contracts and cleaners so it wasn’t at its best for our stay. I don’t think this would be a problem for anyone else in the future as the new contractors were brilliant and got it sparkling quickly once in place.
The location of the property is ideal. It’s quiet and safe and surrounded by monkeys, mongoose and hummingbirds which we saw daily. There is a beautiful view of the sea from the upper balconies too. It’s a moment walk down to a very quite sandy beach which was a delight to swim or board in every day. Some parts of the island are much windier and the sea wilder - this was perfect. We stayed at the end of April when there is a lot of seasonal seaweed on other beaches but it doesn’t seem to affect this part of the coast at all. We did hire a car (easily arranged by the staff who gave us a few numbers and choices and it was delivered to us) but often preferred the beach and the quiet of the villa. In nearby Spightstown there are some good lunch or dinner options. Caboose is instagrammable and prices to match but nice or Sunflower Rotis offer great takeout options at half the price. Similarly, restaurants range from stylish and concept to local too. The beach there (Heywoods beach) offers great snorkelling and sandy shores and good safe swimming. You’re also nearby 10 min drive to Animal flower cave - the breadfruit tacos there are amazing but for a group, the cave entry is quite pricey - but that’s similar for other attractions too eg Nicholas Abbey Distillery (also beautiful). Bathsheba bay is a 30 min drive (The Roundhouse is another good option for food and drink there or more local style Scotland View on the way). Part of the ease of the villa is the way it is managed and staffed. Housekeeper Dolorious kept the villa immaculate so it was like staying in a hotel in terms of crisp linen and freshly made beds and plentiful towels for beach and bathroom - and even managed our laundry for us. She was quietly, brilliantly efficient and much appreciated. There are some beautiful bedrooms and a lot of relaxing spaces - our main bedroom had a beautiful balcony overlooking the sea, and the wildlife - it was also enormous and similar to a Sandals suite we enjoyed years ago.

United KingdomIf you want local amenities within walking distance this is not the villa for you. A car is essential or you will feel very isolated. Lindrey does like to sit on the upper balcony during the day watching his mobile phone so loud we could hear it by the pool...and yes we did politely ask him if he could turn the volume down...
If you want peace and quite and a beach that is as private as a public beach could ever be then this is the villa for you! First time we have ever had a chef and housekeeper whilst self catering. We did not have to do a thing! The housekeeping standards from Heather were sensational - she did ALL our laundry, changed our beds and towels regularly and kept the communal areas (excluding kitchen areas) at an exceptional level. The food provided by Lindrey was good, and he could make a meal from all the ingredients we bought for him. It was our wedding anniversary whilst we were there and he created a wonderful meal for us under the gazebo - including table sparklers - truly memorable! He does like to sit and tell stories at the table with you, which is nice....but sometimes he would just start and interrupt the conversations we were having!

Private location, with a private beach. The house comes with your own house keeper who does a great job. The chef prepares all your meals and the food was delicious. Great value for your dollar.

Sea Symphony Villa is a large, comfortable home with great views close to a small, virtually private beach. The staff was excellent. Dorious, the housekeeper, kept everything clean. Lindrey, the chef, prepared superb meals, including local dishes. Dorothy, the house manager, was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were spacious along with several inviting common areas and a refreshing pool. It is very quiet, in a fairly remote part of the island.

United KingdomWe managed perfectly well without a car, but if you want to go sightseeing or eat further afield, a car might be useful. However, Chris, the tame taxi driver, gets you to and from the airport and is also available for tours or visits to other areas of Barbados. Much more relaxing than driving yourself.
We really appreciate that you can book the whole villa at a very good rate for just 2 people. We planned to eat out and sightseeing but ended up not straying very far at all. Dorothy and her excellent staff look after you very well indeed. Never had a chef in the past, so was a bit nervous of how it would work out, but Lindrey was brilliant. Told him what we liked and what we didn't. Gave him some cash, and he stocked up the fridge, then served up some of the best dinners and breakfasts we have eaten. Puddings seemed to be a speciality, and we just ate whatever he had decided on that night. Never disappointed us. I brought my fishing gear and managed to provide dinner one evening. Speightstown is only a few minutes by bus or taxi and has a supermarket if you want to shop for food and drinks yourselves. Whatever you fancy, Lindrey can probably serve it up, but we gave him some leeway, so he used a lot of local ingredients. We fancied chicken Kiev one night (sad i know), and he said he could probably remember the recipe from doing it in the 70's :-) Mornings were spent snorkeling and on the beach, which is 30 steps away and does have some shade. Afternoons around the pool and evenings on the balcony. Our lovely maid Dorius kept everywhere spotless, supplied fresh towels daily, did some washing, and always had a smile on her face. She showed us a shortcut to the main road where you could catch a bus or walk 10 minutes down to The Fish Pot restaurant and some small beaches. The views from our master bedroom were lovely, and it had its own balcony. Humming birds flit around the pool, and a large family of monkeys often used the garden as a shortcut, which was great to watch. They are a bit shy and keep their distance so cause no problems at all.

The meals were wonderful and elegant. The host was gracious and meted me when I arrived with a lovely tour of the Villa. Dorothy and her staff were excellent hosts and very helpful, kind, and a delight to be around. Thank you for making my stay absolutely wonderful and amazing. The pool was great along with very tailored and neatly kept grounds. The bedrooms are very comfortable with each room having a different theme with their own individual bathrooms. Thank you for the beautiful flowers and being able to have a personalized stay. A book was there to assist with tours and other fun things to do in Barbados. The Villa really felt like home away from home.

Everything. The villa was the most luxurious and beautiful place I've stayed. The staff is phenomenal and professional. It's literally an oasis. I love that you are away from the tourist area because you get the real feel of how beautiful Barbados actually is. The Chef is amazing and his food was delicious everyday. The housekeeper cleans and does laundry without you feeling like she is even there. The Villa is massive and the common spaces are so perfect to socialize with friends and family. The views are breathtaking every morning. We were all so sad to be leaving but we will definitely be back again.

CanadaIt’s quite secluded. You’ll require a car to get anywhere. There’s a tiny beach across the street but you can’t really hang out there because of the massive crushing waves.
Really beautiful property. Lots of rooms and very spacious. The pool is great for hot sunny days in Barbados. The villa comes with a chef and daily housekeeping which felt very luxurious! The staff had great communication throughout our stay. We felt very spoiled.
