Received way too many unsolicited messages from them, both before and during my stay. Repeatedly messaged me about extending my stay and paying for a late checkout, despite me telling them no, multiple times. Particularly didn’t like that they charge for a late checkout, even if you want to stay for 1 extra hour, it was particularly poor as they didn’t even have another guest arriving that day. Also, read the fine print - they put a hold on your credit card for $300 for a damages deposit. They advise that they will send you a payment link, then don’t send it, just automatically put a hold on your credit card. The apartment was fine, but the repeated spamming and holding the deposit left a bad taste.

Spacious with a nice water view (sunset not visible from the apartment). Comfortable bed and sofa. Bathroom ammenities were plentiful and good quality.

Some things are broken and wearing out/old. For example fan speed dial kept coming off in my hand and toilet brushes broken and rusty. Just needed a bit of TLC, maybe a deep clean especially in bathrooms.

Size was great, and the position, also the view from balcony. The unit was well stocked, has parking and easy walking distance to food and coffee. Washer and dryer handy too.

1. There was no room safe and no bathroom waste bins 2. We couldn't get the stove top to work (technical challenge?) and there was no instruction manual supplied. For some reason we didn't get a response from the hosts so we made do without. 3. I had a look at reviews across the board for Zen managed apartments and there seems to be a consistent concern about maintenance. my advice to Zen is to take a proactive stance on this rather than relying on guests to report defects and then have the inconvenience of facilitating visiting tradies. 4. It was a little noisy at times as we could hear people walking around presumably in the upstairs apartment. Nothing much you can do about this except bring a pair of earplugs just in case!

The apartment was very comfortable and clean with good views from a large balcony. Kitchenware was sufficient for a two person stay. Air-conditioning and overhead fans worked well. Large screen TV for using your own streaming apps. Beds were very comfortable. Consumables were well supplied. Lift access to the ground floor was quick most of the time and the public areas were kept clean. It was easy to collect the key from the lock box and our request for a second key was quickly addressed. Our host Chris was quick to respond to some initial maintenance issues. Overall we would definitely stay in this apartment again and would like to see Darwin in the 'green' season. Thanks to Zen for providing us with a great holiday break.

A great apartment, the kitchen was well stocked, the furnishings were in good condition and a great location! The restaurant below was a nice add on and the staff were great! Excellent location. We’ll be back!

There was literally nothing we didn't like

The room was clean, spacious, homely, with beautiful designs throughout. They had top ups of everything had we run out, extra blankets if needed, cleaning products and board games. Staff were very nice and messaged the next day to let us know they were contactable if we needed them. The view was nice of the harbour and city. The room itself was unique and nicely designed. Loved our stay with Zen

The access via the jet box was unnecessarily complicated and difficult to put in the code because the box is at the bottom and the lock very small and difficult to see in the dark. The message about the 3 digit code didn’t officially come through till the next day, so it was just as well that I had sent a message. When we finally had the key, it was not obvious that you accessed the apartment via the OAKS hotel. We only found out by chance as we didn’t have a car, so those instructions weren’t helpful. However we finally sorted it all out. There must be an easier way though.

The apartment was spacious, light and airy. Just perfect for us.

The Front Door, banged all night and it was hard to sleep. This was from the wind I'm presuming. This needs to be fixed, as since your the unit right at the end. The Curtains need to be fixed as well

Expected a barbecue but there wasn’t one even though it was advertised as having one. Also, the room advertised was not the room we received, photographs were of a different apartment.

We could not access the keys to our room as the code we were given did not work. We arrived at 1am due to our flight and could not retrieve the key. After ringing the 3 numbers supplied with them all going to message bank it was a very stressful experience. I did finally receive a callback at 01.54am to be told that I should reverse the code numbers as there had been an issue with the code before. It would have been good to have had this information ahead of our arrival. The following days I received messages asking if we required any further assistance but that was too little too late, I received an apology but no offer of any compensation which under the circumstance I think would have been a nice gesture CUSTOMER SERVICE. The apartment was comfortable but unfortunately the issue on arrival spoilt the beginning of our stay.
