How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

TV could have been bigger.
Location G8 only kitchenette but all I needed for my stay. Plenty of room space and had a little balcony which was nice. Friendly staff.

The pool and hallway area needs to be clean daily. Reception was not so informative. One of the room that we booked, I found baby cockroach was crawling on the bed on the first and second day. Tried to mentioned it when we check out but the reception was closed.
Good location, easy access to everywhere. Room was clean and good space for couple.

The reciprocal agreement with the hospital allows people to use the downstairs rooms. We were kept awake quite a few nights with yelling

Sad to see the garden beds looking tired with weeds. The plug for the bath did not fit, water kept running out of the plug hole, you can hear it.
The bed very comfortable, clean kitchenette. The pool looks gorgeous. You can see the fairy lights on the espanade. We even enjoyed the older style bathroom. I will definetly book again.

Very dated no recent renovation, everything quite old and somewhat in need of repair.
Good value for money - however you get what you pay for and it’s pretty basic and a little weathered. The staff were helpful, it was clean, the linen fresh. The pool was nice took the kids down. Good location close to the airport.

good to have sower the curtain to avoid wetting the floor. there is not the knife for cooking at the room.

It was a basic motel-nothing special but nothing wrong with it. It is a little close to the runway at Cairns airport. You do have planes overhead and they are quite loud but thankfully it is not a busy airport.
Price per night good value for just passing through Cairns. A very good Thai restaurant one block away. Easy access to the Esplanade. We very much enjoyed walking to/from hotel on the Esplanade. A pleasant 20 minute walk to the center area. Kids each had a single bed and there was a queen bed. Kids enjoyed a cooling dip in the pool.

Family room was near the street and we could hear people laughing and joking as they passed outside motel.
It was close to the airport and the beds were comfortable. Staff were very helpful.

I had to leave my car on the street after dropping my sister off at the airport early in the morning. The room wasn't worth the money we paid. It was very run down and when we arrived our neighbours all rushed back into their rooms. Made us feel like we shouldn't be there.

The steps to the upper storey were too narrow and triggered a lot of care in traversing.
The room we had was quiet at the end of the upper row. There was ample room and the three seater sofa was a bonus. The private balcony overlooking the pool was a good feature and a great place for drying washing. Secure parking was appreciated.
