How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Only one thing - would be great to have more crockery+cutlery.
Location was amazing & was directly across the beach. Hearing the waves/ water at night was magical.

Some car noises from a street close by, but as we arrived late and left early we didn’t have real problems with it.
The location was amazing, so close to the beach and right across a cute little beach bar. Jungle sounds and waves crashing included! Despite the location in the jungle, the please was super clean and free of any insects/bugs (which I was afraid of). We didn’t meet the staff because we arrived late and had to leave early, but they left a kind little note for us.

Great location and all the amenities we needed for a short stay. Super comfortable with views of the trees from the bungalows. Dean greeted us and made us feel really welcome.

Great being just across the road from beautiful Thornton Beach. Perfect for short stay in Daintree Rain Forest. Clean & tidy cabin style accomodation. Very friendly owners.

Sadly wifi and phone service is very unreliable, but not the fault of the owners whatsoever - it’s just part and parcel of living in Nth Qld.
Dean is a wonderful source of information. Directly opposite the beach.

There was nothing we didn't like about this fab bungalow. The location in the forest and directly opposite Thornton Beach and Thornton's Cafe was ideal. Terrific being able to park directly outside our bungalow. Highly recommend this clean, simple, cosy accommodation in the heart of the rainforest and we were very impressed with the friendly organised host.
We enjoyed a terrific four night stay in bungalow 2. The bungalows are spotlessly clean, cosy and well equipped. We appreciated the tea/coffee/milk sugar etc and were grateful for the the other thoughtful gifts in the fridge. Our hosts ensured prior to arrival that we were advised to bring food supplies with us. The bungalow had everything we needed to prepare meals for ourselves and it was terrific to have our own sheltered bbq outside. We both enjoyed chilling out on the verandah and having a drink whilst listening to the birds and the sound of the waves from the beach directly across the road. It made us smile seeing beautiful butterflies (including the vibrant Ulysses butterfly) in the lovely gardens surrounding the property. The bed was comfy and the bungalow has great ventilation with screened louvre windows and it was nice to have the option of having the ceiling fan as well. Other thoughtful touches include having a powerful torch, large umbrellas, personal insect repellent if needed (we didn't need it) Our host Dean was very welcoming and knowledgeable and obviously takes great pride and care of this wonderful accommodation.

Me and my partner loved our 5 night stay here! The bungalows are located in an excellent area and were very clean when we arrived. The shower was great and the bed was very comfortable. The bungalows have a really nice porch area which we sat on quite a lot! They’re really cosy little places to stay in the rainforest. The owners Dean and Jodie are really friendly and helpful and Dean was very informative on things to do in the area! Definitely recommend!

Fantastic, authentic Daintree coast experience. They sit across from the spectacular Thornton Beach, the junction between the Daintree Rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef. Beautifully gardens and immaculate, clean bungalow. Spent alot of time on Thornton Beach. Spectacular natural beauty and endless space. Slept like a baby. Beautiful.
