Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaDidn't really like the bedroom being upstairs - particularly when it was a circular staircase which is dangerous at the best of times. A lamp in the lounge room would have been nice.
The gardens were beautiful. Hosts were very friendly.

CanadaNothing really.
This is a special and unique location out in the hills and was spectacular setting. It felt like you were up in a jungle retreat with all the amenities and gorgeous views of the valley below and ocean in the far distance. Bathroom was very generous in size, and small kitchen and fridge was helpful. Parking was on gravel in the shade for most of the day. Hosts were very friendly and informative. It is a large property in a neighbourhood with large lots. There are extensive garden plantings with an outdoor pool area with beautiful views. It’s really just a 10 min drive to quaint towns and hippy villages that have been resurrected by new money coming in from Australia’s southern population. The Units are similar to cabins with their own little covered porch areas - so even if it is raining you can sit out and read while surrounded by lush plantings. Long term owners are very helpful with answers for any of our questions. We spent an afternoon in Brunswick, a day in Byron Bay and a few meals within 20 min drive on a scenic route in the area which the owners told us about for great views.I forgot my jacket in our unit and the owner mailed it back to Canada for me:) If you enjoy the outdoors and jungle type feel and some wildlife, you’ll enjoy the wildlife and hilltop get away.

Great location half way between Brunswick Heads and Mullumbimby if you weren't inclined to self cater. Host provided map of area and suggested some drives and excellent places to eat. Pool was a great place to relax before dinner. Unit had everything we needed. Bed was comfortable but the pillows were a bit low for me.

AustraliaThere is nothing to dislike. A few very minor considerations for our handicap-enabled room (done so tastefully that even an able-bodied person must like it): The edges of the ramp on the porch could be (esthetically) marked with light-reflective material (I tripped over it a few times in the darkness). The bathroom could use a few more clothes hooks away from the shower; also not sure how to prevent the water from splashing all over the bathroom floor when showering (I had to place a mat in front of the toilet to prevent slipping).
This place is magical, stashed away at the end of a residential cul-de-sac, surrounded by a subtropical garden full of wildlife, tended lovingly by the owners. It is very private but you need a car to get there and move around to shops, restaurants and/or local sights (there is no café on premises). It is about 10min drive to Mullumbimby (grocery store and restaurants) and 20min to Byron Bay - but you would not know it when you sit on the porch of your 'little paradise'. A well-appointed spacious room (comfortable bed, pleasant seating area with beautiful carved furniture), nicely furnished small kitchenette (with refreshingly clear instructions how to use the coffee machine and a huge selection of teas), spacious bathroom with heated towel rack. The highlight is a mineral-water pool and hot tub set against the backdrop of lush green mountains. I could stay there forever...

DenmarkThe place was absolutely amazing. The hosts were super kind and told us the magnificent history of the Figs, be sure to ask about when you book a stay there! The rooms/apartment we booked was beautiful and clean, with a great view, especially when watching the sunrise over the eastern hills and the sunset overlooking Mount Warning. We are nature lovers and it was wonderful to find all manners of interesting animals and plants around the property. It is truly a haven for wildlife. The stay was amazing and we can only recommend it!

AustraliaZero.
It wasn't just the cleanliness of the facilities, the comfort, or the closeness to attractions, the grounds were maintained to standard that was immaculate. Extremely good communication from staff, who were friendly and helpful. 100% worth another stay. Oh yeah, the water is soft as well. Showers and drinking water were the best.
