Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere was nothing we didn't like.
The Bronte Hotel is quirky, extremely comfortable, and with some lovely additional touches provided by the owner. We had a spacious bedroom with a very comfortable bed. There's a fabulous covered area overlooking the town, where breakfast is served, and where you can have a cuppa or a drink; and there's a comfortable indoor lounge area too where you can just relax. The hotel is ideally located on the main street of the lovely town of Morpeth.

AustraliaNothing.
The breakfast was perfect - exactly the type we like to have at home. The balcony setting was ideal. Cindy was a great host - nothing was too much trouble. We felt that we could call on her if ever we needed to. We would definitely stay there again.

AustraliaBeautiful, quaint and clean. Perfect overnight stay in their new extension rooms. Spacious. Everything you need. Cindy gave great local recommendations before arriving and great location in town. Coffee down stairs is great and the brekkie that Bronte put on is perfect on their balcony.

AustraliaAbsolutely nothing
We looked for a port in a storm on a long exhausting trip and found paradise. From the moment we walked into the welcoming lounge with wine, chocolates and beverages waiting for us we were smitten. A glorious building artfully renovated with so much to see and then our room...simply blown away. A bath in which we soaked away our cares and an amazing double rain shower. The bed was so comfortable and the included breakfast delicious. We will be back!

AustraliaProbably the only thing I can fault is the stairs, my knees don't cope well with stairs.
We only stayed one night but would have enjoyed longer. The room was beautiful and relaxing.

New ZealandWe loved the room and breakfast on the verandah. Breakfast was great value and well organized. Communication was excellent as we were caught in a traffic jam and were going to be checking in very late. Wifi was patchy (for us), so it took extra time to sort breakfast orders, etc. We appreciate the patience shown to us.

AustraliaA very unique and special place to stay. So many personal touches that make you feel at home, welcome and special. The decor is stunning and exquisitely finished. Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to meet the host which I regret because I wanted to express my gratitude for the amount of time and effort that must be spent making the rooms and house immaculate, and for the extra touches like breakfast and free wine, tea and coffee. Please do yourself a favour and stay.

AustraliaThere is not enough parking for all the rooms, 8 rooms with 5 car parking spots. This should be mentioned at the time of booking, we had to park on the road which is not ideal.
Quaint property, nice and clean and perfectly positioned in the town.

AustraliaAll perfect.
The room was large, but cozy. The bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was spotless, and the shower was hot and the pressure was good. The breakfast was great and good value for money. There was a flight of stairs to our room, but easy enough. There were rooms on the ground floor I believe. It was handy to all the necessary shops, especially the bakery.

AustraliaI thought from the pictures that there would be working fire places in the room, or at least the common room. But it was not promised, i just assumed. Still gorgeous, and the room was warm enough, it was just my expectation for a cozy fire place. And i was sad to see so many closed businesses in Morpeth. But if you need to stay there, this is the place!

Clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast was great. There is a nice upstairs balcony area and downstairs lounge where you can have coffee, tea or a glass of red. It was more of a b&b than a hotel but we liked this and the property was beautiful

AustraliaI wish I stayed another night.
The olde world charm of the building, the warmth and cosy comfort inclusions, the welcoming guest room downstairs with sweets and wine, tea and coffee.... the room and the extra blankets that were provided, the privacy, the quiet, the surroundings of the village and the river nearby.
