How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

My personal preference is for a total dark room and the light from the hallway was a bit annoying but nothing really.
Property is fabulous, well appointed and well situated.

Great location in centre of Toronto, multiple coffee shops, a few restuarants and supermarkets and a great hotel all within 2 blocks, and good value!

The location is close to family, the shops are conveniently close and the view/walk around the lake is beautiful. I will continue to stay when visiting family.

Everything. We have been here many times and it’s always lovely to come back to. Learne is always so warm and friendly, it’s like a ‘coming home’ . Room very comfortable, clean and quiet. Looking forward to our next stay.

It is a convenient place to stay when visiting family. The off street parking is a bonus. The communications from the staff regarding requests and check-in are most helpful.

They need to upgrade their TVs the colour on ours was gone, absolutely terrible. They could also do with smart TVs. I haven’t stayed in the middle of winter I would have loved an electric blanket as I have a bad back and in really helps in winter. One day they might renovate the bathrooms they don’t need it yet but when they do, I would suggest to get rid of the shower in the bath setup. This is so dangerous to get in and out of when the floor is slippery. For any body older or younger.
I love the location,we have stayed here many times, it’s always spotless with great showers, great beds and central to everything. Great cafe around the corner lovely choice of restaurants. Close to foreshore, great clothes shops too. The apartment we stayed in, is quite big, great setup dinning table, lounge room also big enough for two lounges but only has one two seater, fantastic, except the TV.

We did request and remind via messages several times when booking that we needed an extra bed for a child, which we were told was no problem. Luckily, we ended up with one person less than planned as this request was not followed.
Spacious, clean, and quiet. We loved the very soft, comfortable beds.

The only issue I had was that the key fob did not activate the car park boom gate so I had to park on the street

This was our second stay here due to the handy location - buses, restaurants, and the lake. The beds are super comfortable, and the apartments are quiet and spacious. There is a bookcase to share books

Nothing to report; all was good and would happily choose this place again if I needed to stay overnight for a Lake Macquarie trip.
Very friendly and accomodating staff; outstanding level of communication prior to check-in and after checkout. Onsite free parking was excellent. Room was clean and well maintained. As a Studio Lake front apartment it was above the ground floor commercial shops underneath and road-facing. You could hear some cars going past the room in the early evening, but we were tired so slept through the night soundly. Water pressure and temp in the shower was so good! Loved the two packets of biscuits left with the tea; a little, thoughtful gesture that was well-appreciated. Close to walk to nearby restaurants for dinner. Checked out as the sun was rising, and saw the beautiful view over the lake. Wished we could have stayed an extra hour to see it all, but it was a perfect stop for our event in Lake Macquarie the following day.

A soft bed that would be great for those that like a soft bed ( but not me who likes a firm bed) There is a convection microwave but no plates dishes or utensils of any kind, which leads me to the question of why is there a microwave in this room?

Original room wasn’t very private, could see straight in as the curtains didn’t close fully. Staff was happy to move us to a different room which was a lot better. If staying for a few nights would recommend getting a room with a kitchen as ours didn’t have any cutlery or appliances which wasn’t very helpful.
