A lot of the dinnerware/ tableware had chipped off edges - may need to be replaced.

Great location to Scrubbers’s End. Nice cozy, comfy home.

Master bed was saggy, we ended up rotating it which helped a bit, but it needs updating. Lighting poor/too dark in the bathrooms and entry area. Lighting could be better in general. Some insect screens missing or broken so flys were getting in. Fireplace tended to smoke too easily, chimney not drawing properly, might need a clean. Had to spilt the timber smaller and keep the fire smaller to avoid too much smoke coming inside the room.

Comfortable, good ambience, beautiful natural setting, nice views out the back. Kitchen worked well. Lounge dining area were great.

Dinner Plain is beautiful but poorly serviced off-season.

Although there was a starter pack of tea etc, there was no milk. The sample toiletries supplied had already been opened and used. Probably these were oversights. The snow season was declared shut unseasonably early and the village followed suit. Take what you need! Someone had disposed of used medical protector sheets under the deck and they were bringing flies. There was no fly spray and we were inundated constantly by flies. There is a very clear rubbish system and ample bags were provided! This was unpleasant and unnecessary. When the season was declared over it would have been appreciated for the rates to be altered to off-season or shoulder. It was called before we arrived and unbeknown to us until we arrived, the village amenties at Dinner Plain (and at Mt Hotham) were greatly diminished. For example, at Dinner Plain the spa was shut, the very pricy supermarket closed the weekend we left, the hotel and restaurant were taking turns being open on alternate nights (the restaurant in the Hotel was amazing), the hire shop (including bikes, etc) was shut. It was worse at Mt Hotham. This trip was planned for a long time and we understand that weather cannot be controlled or predicted. At the same time last year, there was snow. However when everything in the Village was closed and the season was declared finished, prices could have been automatically changed to reflect that. The booking could not be cancelled or altered but as we were nearly the only ones in the Village that is obviously not the case for other Dinner Plain options.

The house was in a great location on a corner block. The kitchen was large with plenty of everything and a new dishwasher. The linen on the beds was clean, there were plenty of towels and washing powder was available in the well-appointed laundry. The rooms all had a lovely outlook. The fireplace was lovely and had ample wood supplies for an end-of-season stay. The deck was well positioned to catch the sun and watch the wildlife. Our old Labrador enjoyed lying on the deck. The mud room and garage were welcome appointments. Communication was generally good. The drive up and down the mountain is not bad and access to Bright or across to Dargo or Omeo was good.
