How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Room was smelly at first x no storage provided after 5pm which was annoying as I had a late flight and had to look for alternative storage in town
Right next to the citycat and bus towards the city center x ten minutes from the airport x milk and cookies everyday in the room x hot water x

Suggesting for improvement: - Ventilation in the shower would be good. - Some crockery and cutlery that accommodates use of the toaster and microwave provided. - Double glazed windows to reduce the noise of traffic, planes and guests coming in and out would be marvellous for people arriving on long haul flights and in need of rest. - tables and chairs outside are not helpful in this situation either.
Close to, but not at, the airport is a plus, as is the fact the Motel is located in a nice area. I felt very safe, though arrived late at night and alone. Staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating of requests. Shuttle service is a bonus, even though not of use to me at the time. Beds were comfy and sheets very nice.

Great spot for a night prior to Cruise. Comfortable accomodation, owners ran a shuttle between their motel and the cruise terminal which was very convenient. Pleasant and obliging people ... many thanks. Good food pub easy walking distance.

we could have done with some utensils e.g bowls and plates had to ask for cutlery as we had breakfast supplies with us and there was not even a spoon for the tea/coffe.
bus to cruise terminal was fantastic and priced really well bed was very comfortable and location was good near the hamilton hotel for meals.

The bed was pushed to the corner of the room so that the one person needed to climb over the other. The room decor was nothing like the advertised photos.
Location was very good close to the Coles shopping centre, Hamilton Hotel and the River. Shuttle service to the Port was extremely handy.

The rooms are old and dated could do with a spruce up, especially the hot water.
The proximity to restaurants and the river was great. The beds were very comfortable and the area was quiet.

Would have liked better curtains.
The perfect place for a layover in Brisbane. We walked 10mins to the supermarket at night to grab supplies and then in the morning walked to the waterfront and got coffee

It was a short trip from the Airport, giving me more time to relax and the room was nice and cosy, clean and quiet. There is a nearby pizza place that is just a few minutes away and other shops for basic needs aswel.

Water in shower cubicle got backed up. There was a big step into the shower and I knocked my shin getting in - not accessible if that's what you need. Being near to a major road equals traffic noise.
After hours self check in worked well. Room was very clean. Block out curtains useful.

Small room.
Small rooms but very comfortable and quiet. Near the river, pub and Dan Murphys. On site courtesy bus.

A bulb in the room wasn't working. Hence the room was on the under-lit side. Also the bulb holder looked as if it wasn't cleaned in ages.
The checkin and checkout were smooth. For a short stay, this was most necessary.

Air cond was hard to operate/ complicated. Curtain need adjustment
