Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe kitchen area was very limited. We chose a room with a kitchen as we find vegan options in restaurants very limited so prefer to cook. The kitchen was not adequate for cooking. The room was clean and comfortable enough but a little dated and tired. The building works next door started up before 8am which was a little annoying.
Location was central. Bed was comfortable. Staff were polite and helpful.

AustraliaThe bathroom. It had no fan or heating. The shower was difficult to use as you had to climb in and out of a very deep slippery bath and the shower head was too low and small. Paid extra for an executive studio so this was disappointing. Also paying extra for parking, which i had not expected on booking.
Location was perfect. The studio was very clean and had a nice outlook. Towels were good in the bathroom. Modern furnishings in living area.

AustraliaA few things to consider for other travellers. Check-in was a bit confusing. We followed the instructions but had trouble accessing reception from the underground car park. No one answered the intercom, and another guest had to go outside and up the hill to get help. The room itself was comfortable, but the kitchen was very limited—only one cooking pot was provided, so we had to cook in stages, washing it in between. The stove was turned off when we arrived and it was noted this was intentional to save power, I just want others to know incase they have issues with bending or getting to a low level to reach for the power switch under the sink. However, I try and switch off power not in use as much as possible too. On our first night, I went for a swim, which was great. However, when we returned to shower, the bathroom floor was extremely slippery - possibly due to cleaning residue? I called reception to request more towels to lay down for safety and explained why when she asked how many would be needed. The staff member didn’t seem very compassionate or receptive, which was surprising given I had mentioned how slippery it was in a generally wet area - the bathroom. The bathroom could also be challenging for some guests. The shower is over a bath, and the floor inside and outside the shower was slippery. The water pressure was very weak, and I couldn’t raise the shower head above my height (I’m 5’4”). Also, if you run the dryer while in the bathroom, it can get uncomfortably hot and steamy - best to use it when you’re not in there and leave the fan on. Checkout also had some issues. After the key deactivates, if you’re using a luggage trolley, you’ll need reception to let you back upstairs from the car park. During busy times, this could mean waiting or walking back up to return your key. Perhaps there’s a smoother process, but nothing was explained to us.
Amazing spa, pool, and location – a few minor check-in hiccups The pool, spa, and overall location were excellent. The room was spacious and very comfortable, with a super comfortable bed (very important for me as I love a good night sleep), great AC and heating, plus a washer and dryer in the bathroom. Check-in was a bit tricky - we had to park in the underground car park and use the intercom to access the lift to reception. Unfortunately, no one answered, so another guest had to walk up the ramp, exit the building, and get help from staff. There’s no parking directly outside the hotel - only across a busy road and up a steep hill - so be prepared for a short walk if you don’t have a key pass. Once checked in, everything went smoothly. The location is great - right near shops, bars, and the beach. There’s also a pub directly below the building with live music and food (no direct lift access to the pub, however you can exit the pub to level 2 and catch the lift up to reception, but you won’t be able to access the pub this way, you’ll need to go through security from the main road). The spa and pool were the highlight. While the pool didn’t seem heated, evening swims were peaceful, refreshing, and relaxing (another important feature for me) - I usually had the whole area to myself. The spa was large, perfectly warm, and both were exceptionally clean and well maintained.
