Reviews of Quokka Backpackers Hostel Perth - note - Valid passport required to check in 4 stars

Clean & comfy. Adequate facilities-no towels or toiletries.No windows. But surprisingly quiet. Staff friendly (but hardly there) & after hours(4pm onwards…)check in well done.

NOT suitable for families or older couples. Most were in twenties working/looking for work. Very unfriendly people(despite our smiles & hello’s) almost hostile. We received far too many emails(up to a dozen ) stating pretty much the same thing.

Receptionist helpful

I really appreciated the use of coded door access and the flexible after-hours check-in and check-out policy. These thoughtful features make this hostel one of the best I’ve stayed in.

The room I stayed in had an AC unit directly above my bed, which made me wonder why the heating was on during summer. It would also be great if they added individual bedside lighting for each bed to make nighttime more convenient.

Location

Felt run down and lacking a deep clean. Intimidating common areas , mainly male backpackers that appeared to be living long term there. Would not recommend for single travelling female

The backyard smoking area is small, cold and damp because it only gets the afternoon sun

The bed was very creaky if you moved it made a lot of noise

The people were friendly best place to stay it's quite. People are respectfully no noise after 10pm no party's or silly people. Very nice environment. Must stay.

It's cold place.

Good location. Fairly quiet, kind and relaxed staff. Kitchen is cleaner than other hostels.

Rooms do not have windows and are artificially aired, which result on them being cold during winter times as there’s no heating

Room very small, still noisy in private rooms, not hostels fault but inconsiderate untidy other 'guests'

The staff was super friendly and always willing to help. The atmosphere is great for meeting new people, as guests are constantly rotating , unlike other places where long-term stays create closed-off groups. Bathrooms and rooms were clean, and the location is very convenient, close to the city center.

Staff is really cool

There is people you are not from the hostel who keeps coming in for cooking or making parties.

Isn’t a party hostel, so it’s a good place to fine a real connection with people.

The rooms are small

Nothing to like about this property, for the price it’s not worthy.

No towels, no basic soap or basic shower essentials, room was so basic. Bed was full of stain and sheets was not set and I have to do it myself.
