Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe inconsistency in the rooms is frustrating, of our two rooms one has foxtel the other didn't. One had security screens, the other didn't. We were the Guinea pigs for a new keyless keypad system which I didn't mind until the code didn't work on lifts or basement doors so we were unable to use them until we received a fob on our second day.
The location is incredible, the main reason we've stayed here several times. The rooms are of a good size and the ocean views were beautiful.

AustraliaThe checking staff, was not available 1 was sitting in a chair on her mobile phone, the other was in the back somewhere. I waited for 15 mins not realising the girl next to me on the phone was actually supposed to be working. Check in was 2pm, I was there at 2.05pm. Not good enough. No apology at all.
Location is fantastic

AustraliaThe Drift did not feel visitor friendly. We were there with my parents for their 50th wedding anniversary, so the grandchildren of course were present. The Children were told to be quiet and reprimanded for standing on the edge of the pool (were told by neighbours that it was private property, even though they were within the pool area only). When using the common area with bbq at 5pm, we felt very uncomfortable with a resident sitting on their deck watching us the whole time so moved inside at 6pm. Our children were not noisy or unruly at all and were being monitored by us at all times, however we felt very uncomfortable and as though we were disrupting a residential area, as opposed to being able to relax and enjoy being away for the weekend as a family.
We were moved to “the Drift” due to a leak in the roof at paradiso meaning we were unable to stay where we had booked. The swim-up pool and being close to the beach was beautiful. Facility was clean and comfortable.

AustraliaDespite Allogio’s reassurances that they required copies of my driver’s licence and credit card uploaded to their system, every other place I have stayed with Booking.com hasn’t needed this so I am sceptical that they needed this done at all. It also creates the risk of identity theft for myself and other guests who have to do this step if Allogio’s system becomes compromised. Talking to other guests staying there at the time, they shared the same concern. As Booking.com has also asked me a question about check in for the Paradiso, I assume that issues regarding check in might also have been raised previously for the Paradiso. It was very clear that the reception being staffed from 10am to 4pm isn’t sufficient for this size of apartment building and especially for the Paradiso’s price point. There were a few existing maintenance concerns that I would like to have been able to show them about the apartment, but as they weren’t there at check in, nor onsite when we checked out nor onsite for the weekend we were there, this wasn’t possible to do. The worst example of this is that when we first arrived there were so many down lights in the corridors around the apartments doors that were not working that we needed to use our phones to illuminate the door numbers to find our apartment’s door. This indicated that no staff have recently inspected these lights after dark to ensure they’re working ok. This is a real safety issue that shouldn’t exist in an apartment complex at any price point and especially not this one.
The Paradiso Apartments does have one of the best locations in Kingscliff with cafes, shops and beach all within a short walk. The apartment was very spacious. Apartment had both Wifi and also Foxtel. Working laundry and plenty of space to set up a laptop to get some work done if required. Inside the apartment was very quiet with noise from the outside being fairly well attentuated. Bed was comfortable.

AustraliaSingle beds very soft & bed shifted each time rolled over as wheels slid on floors. Very little natural light, furnishing quite dated & showing wear. The block is looking a little tired - 2 sets of keys sometimes didn't work on swiping & one evening ourselves and another guest could not get into the main door after trying 3 sets of swipe tags & needed to contact security
Location is perfect for shops, beach, restaurants, pubs & clubs.

New ZealandDryer didn’t work. Cutlery drawer was broken. Only one tea towel and not able to leave dishes in dishwasher on departure which meant handwashing to leave in time. Only one tea towel meant it was soaking wet. Rubbish collection on Friday morning was very early and woke everyone up including small children. No face cloths. Overall the property is tired and needs refurbishment.
Great location. Adequate facilities. Good wifi and TV options. Oven and fridge.

AustraliaThe apartment shown on the advertisement for 219 was not the same as the actual apartment. Photos had been used from the apartment on the floor above that shows a better view of the beach and a larger kitchen and outdoor area. We talked to the managers and received a small refund for the trouble, but it was quite a disappointment at first but the staff were helpful. Hopefully, the photos will be revised after our experience. Some issues with the aircon that were sorted. The kitchen is light on supplies. There was no dishwashing liquid, no garbage bags, no hand towels, and only one small baking tray for the oven. It's best to bring extra for yourself.
The location is perfect. Close to shops and a very short walk to the beach. Perfect place to stay if you enjoy days at the beach and nice dinners and drinks out. The apartment is big, with enough space for everyone and ample kitchen space for food preparation and eating inside or out. A nice peek of the beach out the window.

AustraliaTelevision was small and located under the kitchen bench at almost floor height. The remote control for the Foxtel was playing up which made it frustrating to operate. Spa pool was not in a useable state.
Well set up for a family stay. Perfect location directly across the road from the beach and surf life-saving club. Spacious room with everything needed for an extended stay if required.

AustraliaThere was a chair missing from the dining table which I managed to get hold of a staff member who brought in an office chair. I had to ask for hand towels and bath mats which I could only get one bath mat as they had no more available. There were no beach towels. The gym was run down and the steam room was full of boxes and rubbish. We couldn't get the TV to work and the reception was always closed. I emailed 5 times and tried calling the numbers I was provided to ask about a late check out and had no response.
The apartment was spacious and the beds were comfortable, it was clean, the pool was nice.

AustraliaI didn’t like that they had scheduled gardening that blocked the entire path way to the pool without any notice being sent out to the people staying those days. Being with a group of young adults with disabilities this was not great. Forcing some to walk up stairs that don’t have great mobility. We chose the ground floor to avoid having that problem. 2 of our 4 days there were disrupted by this.
