How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The shower head was to low my partner had the water on his shoulder he couldn’t put his head under it and you couldn’t change it so he could.

Stayed here numerous times over the years and love the location only minutes away from Parramatta Station and Westfields and a stones throw from Commbank stadium.Several dining options in the church st ‘eat street’ precinct a block away make it the perfect place to stay.Staff always friendly and helpful and the rooms neat and tidy and you always get value for your money.

I stayed at the property for six nights, and daily every item at the morning breakfast was same and repeated for the entire week. A bit of variety on daily menu would be good.
Novotel is located near the Parramatta river, very beautiful to go for a walk by the river. Parramatta mall and lots of restaurants at walking distance.Tram station near the hotel.

The pillows were very hard. I couldn’t get the aircon working but the fresh air was nice

The heater - it could not be adjusted. Even when I asked, it only changed 2 degrees - not good enough. The phone wasn't connected, so I had to call from my phone and they couldn't call back - not good enough

It was quiet dark in the rooms, no overhead lighting, only lamps, it was a bit “tired” some cheap reno’s to make it look “new” but you can always tell in the bathrooms the extent of any renovations.
The location was good, just what we needed (walking distance to Commbank stadium)

Not enough lighting in the room, the tv didn't work (we tried to watch channel 9 rugby game and couldn't watch it because of the bad connection and cutting in and out of sound.)

Room was very dark and had only one small window. Poor lighting in room. I booked a room that was advertised as having a seperate bedroom and sitting area (pictured with a door to the bedroom), however the room we were given did not have a seperate bedroom with a door. The area where the sofa bed was had a very low angled ceiling which we constantly hit our heads on.

Bathrooms were quite outdated and shower was small. Kids wanted to go in spa but it was cold so we couldn't do that. Pillows were uncomfortable. The lighting need improving. We had only 2 lamps and the entrance and bathroom light.
The hotel looked lovely and grand on entrance.

The hot food at the breakfast buffet was cold. Bathroom was clean but dates.
Thebes was great , staff were lovely, easy check in and out. Very clean

Bathrooms could do with some extra cleaning. Mould throughout the shower and something growing on the shower head. Requested a replacement hair dryer as the one I had sounded like it was about to blow up. Was not actioned. Asked for extra water bottles to be left by hsk and the one bottle we had wasn’t even replenished. Hsk team member left another guests room open whilst getting me more water. A big no no, thankfully it was my friends room but sone training for your team needed around this for security reasons. Room type booked not available, advised on the day, only offered $40 comp parking when the rate difference was over $120. I had to ask for additional compensation. This should be offered without having to be asked for as common practice
Property was in a good location with lots of restaurants nearby.

Noisy air conditioning system. Bed was on wheels and moved around when sitting on it - possibly unsafe. Corner room was weird shaped and had to squeeze past the bed to get to the bathroom. Shower was in the bathtub and a bit risk getting in and out - nope that’s just not ok. Lovely view of the rusty roof next door. Seems to have too many negatives for the $200 price tag per night
Close to CommBank stadium. Good sized tv and good WiFi.

There was only one chair in the room when there was 2 people listed to be staying in there. The shower had no curtain so the floor got absolutely flooded when it was used making it slippery when trying to get out.
It was a spacious room with a beautiful view, in walking distance to Westfield and commbank stadium.
