How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

I wasn’t advised about the pool not being available and under renovation, we booked a place with a pool for the kids to play

Could use some extra blankets for the beds (we were there in winter). En-suite shower floor was very slippery and not suitable for my elderly parents.

Lounges very low to sit on & difficult to get out of. Even the younger ones commented. Thought unit was to have a double bed as well as queen bed & 2 singles but the unit had 4 single beds
Great location & super friendly staff. The staff very helpful & obliging. Definitely would stay there again as so handy to shops & food outlets.

Our apartment was overlooking the pool. When we arrived mid afternoon the pool area was closed for renovation. It was very noisy and included loud music being played. We were assured by reception that there would be no work done on the Saturday . Sadly work started again at 7 am and went on most of the day. This took away from us enjoying what we had paid for . Bit of a shame ( even though we understand sometimes this happens )
Lovely apartment , very clean and well appointed . Great location, we could walk to the restaurants and had a lovely walk along the coast .

The heated pool was closed for renovations and, apparently, it has been for several weeks. The booking.com states that there is a heated pool. It should be updated to state that it is presently not available. False advertising?

For over $300 a night we thought more would be provided. No extras supplied, so no oil, S&P, paper towel, tissues, gladwrap, foil, baking paper etc. One tea towel for 4 days, one dishwasher tablet, 2 spare toilet rolls. Utensils in drawer were a bit dirty. Small single kitchen sink so hard to wash big pots. Not enough coffee mugs & glasses - very mix & match set up rather than all matching. Other apartments could be very different & might supply more extras. The bath towels were thin & you had to wash & dry them if you wanted fresh ones. The pool was out of order which we were not told about. When booking it says parking is available but even for a 3 bed apartment there is only 1 car space. Luckily we got overflow parking but in peak times this could be a problem. Pillow protectors need washing & vacuuming along the wall behind the beds.
Great location. Big bbq area. Table tennis. Small gym. Staff helpful & friendly. Apartment was spacious and ours had a great size balcony that looked over the pool area.

The apartment was beautiful we had a 2 bed 2 bathroom as there was 3 of us - it was huge, very clean with comfortable beds. Very near the sea and beach also just a short walk away.

All fine
A great location with views over the sea and port. Very large apartment with huge amount of storage. Currently in Byron Bay in rooms that could be in Home Beautiful, designed by a name, but totally disfunctional. Poor lightly, especially in bathroom for doing makeup, hook for five hangers and no drawers. The comparison with Port Macquarie is telling. .

We booked a 3 bedroom apartment which was spacious. We only had one night here so it was a quick stop over. There was a pool outside our room which would have been nice to use in warmer weather. It was a short walk to the town which is a hidden gem. We wished we had more time to explore Port Macquarie. We parked our two cars here for free.

Room for improvement, warmer quilt for winter in the master bedroom and sufficient supplies of tea and sugar would be appreciated.
Great location for morning walks and jogging near the coastal walk and break wall. Across the road there is a popular cafe and downstairs there is a Thai restaurant. Ocean and river side apartment has nice view and spacious/sunny balcony. Coastal walks, skate park, surfing, swimming and fishing are all on offer within walking distance.

Would be nice to see more modern decor, fixtures and upgrades to bedding.
Best location to park the car and walk everywhere. Spacious unit with lovely views. Friendly staff.
