We're really pleased to hear that you enjoyed the pool, the bar atmosphere, and our central location close to supermarkets and the city centre — these are definitely some of the highlights we’re proud of. We’re sorry to hear that certain aspects of your stay fell short of expectations. Cleanliness is something we take seriously, and while our team does clean the stairs and halls twice daily, we clearly missed the mark during your stay. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and will be following up with our housekeeping supervisors to address it. We also acknowledge your comments regarding staff experience. As a backpacker hostel, many of our team are travellers themselves and are learning on the job. That said, professionalism and good service should never be compromised, and we’ll continue providing training and support to ensure our team can confidently assist all guests. Lastly, we’re sorry to hear you found the mattress uncomfortable. We are currently waiting on a new shipment of mattresses to replace those that require it. Hello Nadia, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're glad you found the location convenient, but we're sorry to hear that several aspects of your stay were disappointing. The air conditioning is set to run throughout the day to manage Darwin’s high humidity, which can otherwise lead to condensation and slippery floors in the rooms. We understand this can feel cold for some guests, and we do encourage anyone needing extra blankets or adjustments to speak with our team — we're always happy to help. Switching off the air con causes condensation and damage to the walls, despite polite requests this still happens which is the reason for us having to give out fines - we hope you can understand our position. We're also sorry to hear your comments about the kitchen, mattress, and behaviour on the terraces. Please note that we take cleanliness and rule enforcement seriously, and we have staff on-site 24/7. However, we did not receive any reports from you during your stay about these issues. When concerns are raised with us at the time, we're able to respond and resolve them much more effectively. Thanks for your great feedback! We’re glad you enjoyed the youthful party atmosphere — it’s a big part of what makes the vibe here so unique. Regarding the kitchen cleanliness: we have the kitchen professionally cleaned twice a day — between 2–4 PM and again from 9–11 PM. However, we do experience peak usage outside these hours, especially during mealtimes, so it can get a bit messy in between. We always encourage guests to clean up after themselves to help keep things pleasant for everyone. To acknowledge your comments the rooms and the other areas are getting a good makeover/maintenance currently as we are in the low season after a very busy high season, I'm disappointed to hear that a male was in your room we have signs in the room to say that this is not allowed under any circumstances if you report this to our reception team they will remove them straight away.
