Too many fussy things on the a la carte menu, I ended up ordering just poached eggs and toast, but it came out with 2 poached eggs and a tiny piece of unbuttered toast. Not really good enough. I really wanted an omelette

It was OK - I thought the $25 buffet version looked good value, but I wanted an omelet.

The shower cubicle is a bit tight. But very clean bathroom. Good water power. Overhead shower and long handshower cable.

I attended a conference a the Rydges hotel. Even with the conference hotel room discount, the Rydges hotel was still $100 a night more expensive than the deal I got a Lancemore Crossley. It is literally right around the corner from Rydges! I assumed it would be less luxury. However it was incredible good. Even an umbrella in the room, as I arrived during a rainy period. Amazing large windows with views on the court yard. Double blinds. Housekeeping services completely restocked all amenities daily. Quality bar and mini fridge availabilities (that I didn’t use), excellent storage space, including a locker. Very large mirror. Excellent working aircon. 24/7 Reception services. Strong wifi.

Honestly, there was nothing we didn't like.

What did we love? Everything! The room (twin room 406) was large and absolutely immaculate. The wifi worked well as did the streaming services on the TV. We could adjust the aircon in our room to suit our needs. The beds were comfy. The location was unbeatable-so close to all the theatres, restaurants, and shops. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. The free drinks hour from 5 to 6 pm was really lovely. I haven't been this impressed by a hotel in a very long time.

There is never anything we don't like about this hotel!

Our go-to hotel when we visit Melbourne, we honestly wouldn't think of staying anywhere else now. Always friendly and welcoming staff, always comfy, clean rooms (we have stayed on several different floors now!), close to tram stops and really handy for the theatres, we just love it here!

Location was great - close to restaurants and theatres. The room was comfortable, great pillows! The complimentary drinks hour in the lounge was an added bonus and a perfect start to the evening.

We did have an issue with our initial room, however this did not impact our overall stay.

The breakfast was superb, a wonderful selection of both hot and continental breakfast served very timely. The location of the property is terrific. It is very close to restaurants, transport and key sporting grounds in Melbourne. The hosted hour offered by the property is a surprise and a bonus. It made us feel welcome.

The breakfast and happy hour area could do with some more seating as there doesn’t seem to be enough for the number of guests. Our room was quite noisy and we could hear the street cleaners and rowdy Friday night crowd, though our kids and my sister in other rooms did not - not much the hotel can do about that though.

The staff were so helpful and friendly. The location was perfect. Close to some great cafes and restaurants and walking distance to the main shopping area. Breakfast was also surprisingly good considering the area where breakfast is served is tiny. Happy hour was a nice surprise too! I l found the beds and pillows so comfortable, like sleeping on a cloud. Rooms were also a decent size.

One night the guest next door had the TV on so loud after 11pm. I had to bang on the wall and thank goodness we had some earplugs

It was a bit tricky to find. The reception area is a weird set up, bit awkward waiting area.

Amazing! Friendly & accommodating staff. The original room, whilst very stylish and well-appointed, was small I upgraded to a larger suite for the 2nd night. It was divine.big comfy bed with everything you need and more. Happy hour was a nice touch. Highly recommend
