How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Shared public car park
Location was fabulous in the marina and shops but didn’t like the fact that it had shared car park as it didn’t feel secure. Young people loitering some had a bit to drink. But having the backdrop of the marina and a fabulous bar and eatery was a plus. Staff very helpful

My stay was for 2 nights however room key was only set up for 1. Travelling alone, got home very late on my second night and could not get into my room...this was extremely distressing, luckily someone was at reception to help..he noted the key defaults to 1 night...More care needs to be taken with this. Not a nice experience to not be able to get into your room late at night

Arrived about 730pm after driving down from Gladstone. Tried ringing a few times first as its poorly signed at night and we couldn't actually see where the accommodation was actually located. No one answered phone. Husband had to walk around till he eventually found some one to help get our door key and tell us how to drive to the accommodation section. Free WiFi didn't work either.
Location. Room was clean but aged and very small. Not worth $250 a night. Maybe $200.

We were visiting family who live nearby, so the location suited us perfectly. Staff were friendly and responsive, parking OK, hotel dining and bars overlooked the canal and boats nearby. Easy walking distance to supermarket and shopping centre; short drive/ride to nearby beaches and river. Recommended.

Good location close to everything you need. Beds are extremely comfortable I have the best sleeps here. Good place to stay for business travellers.

Because it is right above the pub it was quite loud when we arrived home at 10pm but died down pretty quickly at closing time.
The pub next door was beautiful. Close to everything

Specific plumbing problem which I reported. Stairs tricky for some of our people. Bedding very inflexible.....too hot or nothing. Bed too soft adding to heat.

The purpose of our visit was to attend an engagement party that night and we arrived back at the accommodation after the party in the dark, reversed our car (land cruiser) into one of the car parks at the end of the building and unfortunately, because we went in backwards, didn’t realise there was a low hanging branch from a tree which dented the back of the car. There needs to be signs saying ‘front in only’ or the branches from the trees need to be trimmed right back. We think it’s a common occurrence because when we looked the next morning in the daylight there were multiple scrapes on the tree branches in that area.
Excellent location and bonus drink vouchers for the three of us. Easy check-in and more than adequate for our one night stay.

Inaccurate description on directions of how to get there. There was no street number given. It is behind Dan Murphys right next to Kawana Shoppingworld. knowing this beforehand would have made finding its location on arrival, much easier.
The Location is great and very quiet.
