How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

needs a bit of TLC
Its an odd place. We could describe it as hotel without a reception. So we collected our keys from a secure box after 2pm. The room was clean but dated. Same with the ensuite bathroom. Plenty of hot water and quiet. We meet the owners one morning and they were very helpful. One extra bit of info.... the Ramen restaurant next door is excellent and very busy. The café opposite does a great breakfast. Difficult to say if it was good value as the British Lions were in town that week and everything was booked to capacity!!

A microwave in the room would have been great!
The room turned out to be a little smaller than it appeared in the photos, but it was clean, well-maintained, and comfortable throughout our stay. Considering the price, it offered good value for money. The staff were attentive and made sure we had all the information we needed, which made our experience smooth and hassle-free.

Poor wi-fi, not sufficient to work on laptop especially evenings when more people connect. Also, luggage rack would be helpful to avoid keeping suitcases on the floor since it is not permitted to put them on wardrobe furniture (too heavy).
Good location near bus stop and less than 10 minutes to metro.

No handrail available on the steep stairs was a little intimidating for older visitors.

The shower.
Clean, comfortable room in a great location close to the city and public transport. Very quiet and clear easy self check in instructions. Staff very helpful and we were able to leave our luggage after checking out.

Room and bathroom were a little dated (everything worked as it should).
Good location with close proximity to Kings Cross station. Great value for money. Friendly staff. Ideal base for exploring Sydney without being in the cbd.

The single room was a little small as well as the bathroom, but as expected for the cost of the room and size!
Great location in Kings Cross with bus and train station within a few minutes walk as well as plenty of restaurants and pubs, including supermarkets, gyms, 20 minute walk to the city if not getting public transport.

A little bit of noise from outside, probably a/c system but not an issue.

Convenient location, within walking distance to the city. There are lots of takeaways, cafes, and shops nearby, as well as bus stops, a train station, and even a park. The room was small but clean, with all the necessary amenities and a comfy bed. Very nice and friendly staff. I will definitely recommend this place ❤️

The room is very small, and A/C is good but noisy. Contrary to reports, there is no restaurant or breakfast. There was no room cleaning for the week that I was there. None of these spoilt my stay here, but it may affect yours.
Great location, quiet street, and close to stations, shops, bars and restaurants.

There were issues with power outages which affected wifi, and a problematic toilet, but staff sorted the latter very quickly.
Staff were friendly and helpful. The location was excellent, at the quiet end of the street near kingscross station for commuting and rushcutters bay for sea views.

There were yellow stains on the bedsheets.

Not much. The bathroom was a little small but a minor quibble.
Quiet, comfortable and cool. The hotel was a lovely old building in a quiet and secluded part of Kings Cross.
