Reviews of Harbourside Pool Escape with Leafy Alfresco Patio

The location of the property was excellent with easy walking distance to many things. The apartment was clean, spacious and provided us with all our needs. Thanks to the lovely Cherie who manned the desk. She was helpful, polite and very friendly.

We were disappointed that we could not access our outdoor space. When I booked the room the photos showed a shady, outdoor area which we could use during the day. This was certainly not the case. No shade as the plants had been chopped down. There was also a noise problem each night from the hotel nearby. Fortunately the music did stop at a reasonable time.

With both males in the apartment being 81 years of age, and our wives being late 70's and late 60's, we were very disappointed with BOTH BATHROOMS. The main bathroom ensuite, which was occupied by myself and my wife, was very dangerous to the point of treacherous, in that we had to assist each other on entering/exiting the bath/shower, because it was so slippery. There was NO HOT WATER (at best luke warm) in either the handbasin or the shower. However HOT WATER was available in the kitchen and second bathroom. The second bathroom was just as dangerous, if not more treacherous than the ensuite. When our friends took showers, the only screen to hold the water from draining outside the shower, was a wraparound shower curtain which hung approximately 45cm above floor level. In view of the fact that there was no built-up area to retain the shower water, plus no "floor fall" for water drainage, as a consequence, the water "flooded" the entire bathroom, which necessitated it being mopped completely dry to prevent any falls, after every shower, because the floor was extremely SLIPPERY. The other thing we were disappointed with was the inability to adjust the air-conditioning temperature, which had we done so would have attracted a monetary penalty. It was constantly cold, particularly at night, which resulted in two (2) of the occupants leaving Darwin with heavy chest colds. The outside patio WAS NOT as described on the website, as being LEAFY GREEN PATIO. There were dead palm fronds, unkempt plants, and it could have done with a general tidy up.

Wouldn’t recommend this property and wouldn’t stay her again very disappointed.

Two bathrooms second bathroom shower doesn’t work shower head broken runs cold water or either really hot water no in between, shower wall tiles very old dirty aircon vents dirty something coming out of vents clumps of foam dirt ??? Have to pay for parking which we weren’t aware of off street parking also paid parking.

Provide some sort of free parking

We liked the location. The apartment was great for us.

We were too scared to cook incase we set of the fire alarm off. I spoke to the owner about the disabled shower as it flooded & we nearly slipped when going to the toilet even tho I mopped after each shower. The water would gather around the toilet & towards the hand basin.

Great location.Easy to get to places to eat and great for walking Close to the Waterfront.Facilities in the unit were great.The washer and dryer in en-suite were a bonus.Had everything we needed.We will be definitely recommending to family and friends .

Would have liked a dry floor to stand on in the main bathroom.It floods with shower water every time.We addressed this with owners.They were prompt to replace extra towels and floor mats.

Close to town with views of the esplanade.

We stayed in 2 rooms due to urgent maintenance being required. When arriving in the second room (originally booked) the fridge is broken (shelf missing, which severely limits the space for potentially 4 people staying in a 2 bedroom apartment), the leafy alfresco was reasonably barren and incredibly hot due to no shade, out of 2 bathrooms 1 had hot water due to issues with the hotel being full (according to booking agent) and the other bathroom flooded so badly that the housekeeping team had to leave a mop in the bathroom. The entire floor was in a CM of water. The cushions on the beds in the first room were very uncomfortable and the beds only have a sheet. The air conditioner in the rooms is much warmer than in the living area. You are not allowed to launder towels, bedding and you cannot leave any rubbish. The parking is undercover and $22 a night, we were unable to use this due to it being a 2.1m height. Also, the room we stayed in the beds cannot be split. This was not listed on the booking. We were provided very limited notice to change rooms, and then sat in the new room for an hour unable to unpack because new beds were being delivered. The day before we were to check out from the second room there was again pressure to leave earlier than the minimum check out time so housekeeping could clean earlier. It created a poor experience.

It was close to restaurants and grocery stores. It was nice having the park across the street and the patio for breakfasts.

The handicap shower was annoying in that it seemed to flood the whole bathroom. It would have been nice to have a drain mat so you could wash a few dishes instead of putting on the dishwasher. The biggest problem was the closeness to the very loud night club/pub which made sleeping challenging some nights and made it impossible to seat outside.

The pool and the apartment

There was no suitable parking for free whom in there right mind would want to go move there car of the street every 3 hours never have I been asked to take out rubbish do dishes and general clean if I was aware of all of this I would never had stayed and won't recommend to anyone either.The aircon wasn't cold enough and the music off all hours next door not suitable if you can't open up the windows for fresh cool night air

the fact that the big leafy tree has been cut down The car parking explanation was difficult to decipher. Also, the room was cold as the airconditioner could not be turned off. It would be good to have been told where to dump our rubbish so we could remove it from the room.

Good central location, clean & spacious, large bedrooms, good facilities (washer/ dryer/ dishwasher etc)

Quite noisy on the patio being next to bars but didn’t disturb with the doors closed

The location of the property is excellent. Located in the CBD within close walking distance to shops, restaurants attractions, etc. Use of internal laundry

We booked as the property was advertised as a Pool Escape. Unfortunately pool out of action for our entire stay. Only one room key for two couples 3 dining chairs for 4 guest. 3 coffe cups for 4 guests. Broken and missing fridge shelving which reduced fridge storage capacity. Difficulty to keep the main bathroom floor dry after a shower. Needs a large lamp in the lounge to provide extra lighting at night. Mend or change the shower head in the ensuite. Expected to use only a towel for the week stay and were not permitted to launder the towels in the internal laundry.

Location, clean, easy access, helpfull but the cleaning lady was the nicest.

Outside patio garden a mess. Big bathroom a nightmare for flooding the whole floor, Including the toilet and handbasin areas. Small squeegee mop left in bathroom made it a big job after each shower to mop up the water as it didn't drain away.
