Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaCold at night as they did not provide enough blankets . There was a sheet and very thin kmart blanket on each bed, no spares. It was a cold weekend on the Gold Coast and sleeping with heater on is not nice . We would all have preferred another blanket each. We also had a car and the car space provided had a leak spot on the concrete above us and our car was covered with cement flakiness every morning. Obviously the person living above the car spot has a leaking bathroom.
Very central , easy to get too, great views , all facilities available

AustraliaThe sofa was not comfortable at all. There could of been at least a blanket on each bed. It was a bit noisy from the tram and traffic but that reduced later in the night
The Location was great! Close to the beach and surfers paradise. The tram stop was close and we were able to walk to most attractions. The unit was comfortable and easy to access.

AustraliaThe coffee cups were all dirty and stained. It has the top part of the pot to steam veggies but no pot that it fits on . Couldn’t use the oven because all the temperatures and symbols were rubbed off so I burt the food when trying to cook.
It was in a good location, walk to the beach and the heart of surface. The manager was very nice and friendly.

the view was far better than expected - we had a view of the beach and over the pool - location was everything we hoped for - the apartment was lovely

AustraliaThe room needed some maintenance. Staff were prompt in replacing the fan/light in one of the bedrooms when we realised there was no remote. There were other areas that needed attention eg dryer didn't work, most sliding doors to balcony were so stiff that we couldn't open them, broken clothes horse, shower curtain hanging off the hooks. Overall, we were happy with the room.
Great location near tram stop and close to the beach and shops. Spacious apartment with comfortable beds and lounge suite. Kitchen was well stocked. The pool was great.

AustraliaAreas of improvement, for unit 39: * Please have cleaners empty vacuum cleaner, prior to guest check in * Tv in loungeroom is very outdated, I would highly recommend upgrading to a new tv, so people could watch YouTube, or even Netflix on it. * TVs in all the bedrooms. *Blankets on and for all beds in all bedrooms, instead of bedsheet blankets and mink blankets tucked away in a closet * Appropriate amount of shower gels and shampoos for the duration of a stay ( one serving bottle of each is not going to accommodate 1 person showering for a week ( luckily I brought my own) * More than 1 sponge * More bin liners for guests staying more than 3 nights, usually go by rule of thumb for each night of a stay = 1 bin liners needed. * More than one sponge, luckily we didn't need more than 1 sponge * Rug to be replaced in living room or taped down as it presents a possible tripping hazard * Upgrade internet service or modem, the internet was so bad, it wouldn't even load long YouTube videos on our phones at all, *Spare pillows in cupboards * Air freshener for the toilets * Hand wash soap * Curtains for the 3 kitchen windows. *A door to separate the ensuite bathroom from the bedroom . * The mattress in the queen bedroom definitely needs to be replaced, it's like laying on a rock. * Toilet paper holder in main bathroom, was so loose, hanging off the wall, that the first use of toilet paper from the roll strategically mounted onto it, it fell off the wall ( this is just a 5 minute tighten job with a 2.5 mm Alan key screw, sometimes a flat head) With all these issues rectified, I will certainly be giving a 5 star rating for next year. Please definitely update/ upgrade your apartment, would only cost 1 weeks worth of inflow, at most but it'll have guests begging for your unit plus it also means you can charge a little extra too, which in the long run is very beneficial for both your pocket and guest's comfort.
Loved the view, the balcony was exceptional, wonderful views of the city and the beach, conveniently located with lots of shops around and all sorts of things to do nearby.

AustraliaTennis courts not available for use. BBQ area was noisy most of the time with workers. Woken up with extreme noise from onsite workers with drills, chain saws etc. If we were made aware of the work being carried out I would have arranged alternative accommodation. I doubt we would stay at Genesis again.
Great location to stay however when you pay more than $3500 I would expect we can use onsite facilities.

AustraliaBeds were suppose to be 2x double beds and 2 single, instead 4 single beds and 1 double, beds were not to comfy, old clothes in a wardrobe. No vents in bathrooms. Air cons leaked water down walls and on to floor, one air con in room made room so damp the linnen and pillows were soaked and had to be dried before sleeping. Doors to patio were jamming a d hard to open. Carport had leak in roof dripping on car. Overall a very dated and basic accommodation. Noise from ground was still lound on 15th floor.
