Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaAmple tea & coffee facilities, but would have appreciated fresh milk. Breakfast is probably lovely, but too pricey for us, however dinner is reasonably priced.
Spacious room, newly decorated bathroom, gorgeous decor in the room, comfy doonas, onsite parking, friendly staff, open fires. This hotel is an experience, and we found it very pleasant. Floorboards creaked, but everyone settled down by about 10.30 so there was no disturbance through the night.

AustraliaI think the share bathroom rooms could have robes - next time I will take my own.
The venue is always excellent. The shared bathrooms were spotless and the staff very helpful. So lovely to sit in front of the fire on a rainy day.

AustraliaDidn't like the dinner. Small entrée with only one small bread roll. Asked for a second roll but they run out...Main was ordinary the apple strudel was not properly baked. The wine bottle was extremely expensive. Better check before purchasing...
Old world charm in abundance. Helpful staff.

AustraliaWe stayed at the hotel as a part of Christmas in July. As a group of 10, we decided to meet up for predinner drinks around the fire. We went to order drinks and were told the bar was closing for an hour between shifts. 4-5pm. Disappointing to say the least, and incredibly bad staff planning. We had to venture down the road to Robertson Pub, which, by the way, had a great atmosphere for pre-dinner drinks. Ventured back to hotel for dinner. It seemed like they were doing the bare minimum for the occasion. Baubles and tinsel don't make a great "Christmas party" The Christmas dinner was very disappointing. As we wanted to share a couple of bottles of wine for our meal, we were met at the bar by mainly "housewine" and a scant selection to choose from. I just think for a specially advertised evening and the price of the meal, guests' enjoyment should have been the priority, not giving as little as possible to make a profit.
Accommodation was ok in lovely surroundings.

AustraliaThe breakfast had a good variety but the hot food wasn’t very hot so by the time you sat down it was lukewarm. There was only one coffee machine too. But for only $20, it was still good value for hotel breakfast. Some guest rooms need updating, as do the shared bathrooms, but they’re clean and well maintained for their age. Although the hotel isn’t in the centre of Robertson, it’s a comfortable 15 minute flat, paved walk into town.
So much character! It’s old, so it has some quirks, but it has so much charm and personality, you forgive any foibles it has. Bed was so comfortable with quality linen. Some bathrooms need updating, but we had a room with a refurbished ensuite. Great shower pressure and temperature. We were there during July when they have the hotel decorated for Christmas and it’s just delightful! The bar area is so cosy and comfortable. Lots of polished wood and stained glass. Staff work so hard to accommodate people and always have a smile.

AustraliaNoticed upper glass window had no bottom wooden frame, no doubt it had rotted and fallen off. Toilet seat was very loose.
Room was squeezy but comfortable and warm. Bathroom was clean. Enjoyed the establishment's old era vibe.

AustraliaWould be nice to have a map of the property to see where to walk.
Such a cozy building with so much character. Each space is well thought out. Plenty of public areas to chat or read. 24/7 coffee and tea station was a lovely addition. Very convenient to have breakfast and dinner available.

AustraliaI was disappointed in the Gardens and feel that the advertising is a bit misleading. The only gardens that are kept nice is the lawn / Gardens directly in front of the hotel. We ventured all around the property & some garden paths were overgrown & not cared for. Their old duck pens are no longer in use & looking derelict. The Pool & its area looks quite unkept. I do feel the pricing is a little expensive for what it is & I believe if they dropped it, they might see more guests coming through their doors. Our bed was not the best, the mattress felt pretty hard & cheap to me… a mattress topper may help.
Staying at The Robertson Hotel had been on my list for some time. The building intrigued me along with its history. The Staff were all very lovely. We were going to stay in a Heritage room, but paid to upgrade to a Queen room upon check in. The room was simple & clean and with the heater on, very warm too! We had dinner onsite & could not fault the food. We also enjoyed a few drinks by the fireplace. I made myself a coffee in the morning at the tea/coffee station and can say it was well stocked, clean and organised. We enjoyed our stay with The Robertson Hotel

AustraliaThe water pressure in the shared bathroom is a little lacking. The shower was sufficient, but not my favourite part of the stay. The shared bathroom is beautiful and kept very clean though, and the very large shower cubicles were a delight to dress in.
What a wonderful place to stay! Exceptionally beautiful old building, in the middle of rainforest, and so close to so many places to visit. I arrived just as the rains started and was greeted by welcoming and friendly staff, roaring fires and beautifully clean room that was perfect for a short stay. The bed was super comfortable, the heating adjustable in the room, and the little sink was great for teeth cleaning. The tea area in the hall was well stocked and maintained, and a lovely bonus after a long drive. Dinner was very good and the staff throughout my stay were exceptionally helpful and thoughtful. I am so glad I stumbled across this hotel, and I look forward to visiting again. I even met other guests at dinner and talked for an hour or more about our lives and about the hotel and its history. I highly recommend this excellent-value place to stay.

AustraliaThe room, while big, seemed pretty bare and a bit dated. There was no wardrobe, no bar/tea in the room (only shared in the hallway), no suitcase stand, no hair dryer, the TV was on the side wall, not opposite the bed, the bathroom war smelly until we poured water into the drain, the mirror was black around the edges, the need extremely creaky and the mattress uncomfortable. There were no extra blankets. It just seemed as the hotel was more focused on entertainment than on guest rooms, which may well be enough for most people.
Loved the 19th century flair and the open fire place. We also had dinner and it was delicious. The best part about our room was that it has central heating. We got great recommendations for day trips from reception, great cocktails in the early evening and enjoyed our weekend away.
