How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The toilet “ran” and I cldnt have a shower without one hand holding the handheld spout.

The website promised breakfast included - when i booked the girl didn't answer me directly but i thought as its on the website it shouldn't be a problem. When i came down for breakfast i was told i didn't pay the extra $15 , yet i was not asked to pay when i booked. I am nearly sixty y.o. - i know a good con job when i see one and this was a straight up con job. The stupid thing is that my company was paying and if they asked me for the extra $15 they would have got it. The joke is on them - dumb country hicks. Left hungry and went down the road to a cafe and had a $25 breakfast. The room was fine but I wouldn't stay there again. The girl at the front desk was very rude.

The room was a bit tight to move around. Not enough space for a comfortable chair and for luggage etc. Bare minimum furniture. Clean bedding and towels. Carpet vacuumed. The bathroom adequate in size, had a tight shower space with a pull on curtain which got sucked onto the body when running the shower. Somewhat annoying. Water drainage not the best, but no blocked drains. Nothing disastrous, just observation and feedback. Convenient late check in. Passes value for money test.

The soap dispenser in the bathroom was empty. I took a chunk out of my head on a badly positioned shelf.
It’s in a good location. The reception staff were very friendly.

My room lacked soap and the dispenser was empty. The television couldn't connect to netflix due to wifi connectivity error... there were no other options. I witnessed an intense social exchange in the street from my window. My room had an odd smell which wasn't really an issue (perhaps mold)
The receptionist was extremely pleasant, polite, patient and accommodating.

“Accessible room” couldn’t even open the room door to get my walker inside! Bed and bathroom door in the way! We put on file I have necessary registered assistance dog - employee was rude, walked in late night/early morning… pointed and waved her pointed hand at us rudely and said along the lines of “you can’t have animals here and it’s not on your booking” Which we had, and she didn’t believe so my carer had to go show her in the system. Rude. Room was not disability accessible and was a joke. I had my medical folder stolen in the carpark. Unsafe and night staff was unhelpful. I’ve been to IBIS before and used to work for Accor group. I’m well aware of hotel and service standards and this wasn’t it. IBIS Budget accommodation options do NOT disregard safety disability facilities or customer service.

Tv remote didn’t work no fridge besides a communal one which is on the ground floor! It’s not fun walking from the 2nd floor to get a drink of cold water out of the fridge
Comfortable bed and pillows , just be have to be careful getting up during the night that you didn’t smash your head in the bunk bed

The breakfast buffet. Don't choose it, as it is not that great. The review for this hotel is probably rated lower due to the breakfast. Woolworths is a few minutes away,
The room is super clean. Although it is small, it has everything we need as a quick stopover.

No lift Dusty Rooms -under the bunk bed Stupidly positioned bunk bed you will hit your head on the bed frame must have some protection to reduce the impact ? No Room fridge or Bottle of water So basic budget friendly ?
