The car parking bays are too small even for a medium sized Japanese 4 door I had to park in the restaurant parking glad I didn't bring my 4x4

I couldn’t fault it

Everything! It was well presented, clean and comfortable. Once we had checked in at reception we were offered a happy hour drink in the lounge. A beautiful log fire was keeping the room cosy and we were able to sit in some very comfy Chesterfield lounge chairs … so nice to relax after a very long day of travelling. Then we went to our room, which was lovely and spacious and found a complimentary bundle of wine, snacks and bottled water. Our bed (and pillows!) were so comfortable, we had such a restful nights sleep.

The quilt on the bed was not thick enough. There were 2 blankets, but they were old. The dining area would be enhanced with plants or colour- maybe artwork. Pricing is a bit high.

Friendly staff. Restaurant dinner was excellent. Picturesque setting, with views over pool to the lake. Gum trees are beautiful and lit at night. Lounge area at Reception is very comfortable, and Happy Hour is a great idea. There is so much to see and do in the area- wineries and history!

I stayed from Thursday to Friday and therefore breakfast started very late as it counted as weekend. The warm choices were very salty. There were some noises going on during the night. Some guests at breakfast said that was the fire alarm. The aircon was making funny noises at times as well and some wildlife. But let's be honest: there is nothing to really dislike about this place. It was wonderful and stylish.

Check-in was friendly even though it was in the middle of busy evening service in the restaurant. For parking you get a number of the spot you are supposed to park in. During the dark and with a bus parking next to it it wasn't easy to find. When I entered the room, jazz music was playing and the lights were put on, creating a welcoming and relaxing mood. I needed to turn on the aircon pretty soon because it was a rainy winter day. The room looked high class and was very clean, the bed was comfortable. In the room was a medium size complimentary bottle of red wine and chips/crisps (depending on your variety of English ;) ). I could not figure out how to turn on the tv to anything but music. The wi-fi worked well so I just watched German news online instead.

Sadly the pool was being renovated when we stayed.

Massive big cosy room overlooking the golf course. Bathroom felt newly refurbished and was lovely. Complimentary wine in the room. Bike hire and collection from the property was excellent - meant we could go straight from our room onto the riesling trail!

No lounge/bar on a Sunday night. It was cold and we had been out all day, it would have been perfect to top off with a whisky by the fire

Room was excellent. Duty manager on Sunday night was very hospitable. Overall we had a nice stay.
