Reviews of Hotel Canobolas

Wonderful atmosphere here. Our room was clean and very spacious. We felt transported to another era (in a good way). We decided to eat in the Bistro for dinner and were pleasantly surprised - the food and service was way better than usual pub grub. We stayed on a Saturday night but were not disturbed by any pub noise - it was just a low hum in the background.

It was convenient as we were attending an event at the hotel. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The basics were provided - hairdryer, iron, fridge and tea/coffee facilities.

Peeling paint on the walls, a strong smell of smoke as I entered the room. It was very cold in the very outdated bathroom that had no heating. I barely slept a wink as I was cold all night because the air conditioning was making my friend who slept in the other bed cough all night, so she had to turn it off. Electric blankets would have been really appreciated.

Stayed at the hotel as we were attending a function there. Brilliant and friendly staff, excellent price and complimentary drink, dinner discount. Perfect, clean, well furnished bedroom.

The added touches of free drink vouchers and meal discounts were a nice touch. The beds were comfortable and clean.

Very outdated in the accommodation section. My husband said very accurately “it’s like we walked on the set of the shining”. The bathrooms are very old. Must have door shut or you’ll set off smoke alarms. Can’t turn on the light of the bathroom without the fan going which wakes others. The power point was a brick above the pillow so you roll over and hit your head. Otherwise no big issues.

The bathroom walls & ceiling had paint peeling in very large amounts. The shower also had peeling paint from the tiles & no curtain. The floor tiles had mould on them. The room was very dark. In the morning 6.00am we were woken with the cleaners in the outside courtyard cleaning & talking very loudly & crashing bins.
