Clean .....Staff not to touch customers belongings when they do cleaning ..keep hands off ...

Train the front desk agents about customer services ...not just doing the work for $$ ... Coming from the hotel background and customer service please level up the service you give to your customers and let them know that they should treat all customers the same .

Bed comfortable and sheets warm, kitchen and bathroom clean, great location with easy public transportation access. Check in and check out easy. Quiet place, there are a good amount of people staying there on a travel work visa.

There is no place to hang clothes at all in the mixed dorm room and they will tell you you can't hand anything on your bed rales... not even your towel, doesn't make sense. They put a sign on our bed to remove clothes if not then you get a fine, when asked what to do with the wet towel they said to put it in the dryer which you have to pay for. Staff useful but not friendly. People staying are mostly travel work visa folks... people are conversational a little but significantly less friendly than other hostels we've stayed at.

The staff of reception was very friendly! And the bedding was clean. the location was good 10/15 min from the center.

I agree with some of the comments that tell the truth. I've been traveling in Aussie for 2 years. And this is the first time I've seen this in a hotel or rather a "prison". I was used to eating in the city during my stay at Nate's. One day I was eaten in town and there was no trash can where I had eaten so I put my packaging in my backpack. Once back at the hotel I emptied my bag and put my packaging on my bed, the manager I think must be the one everyone is talking about. She came into the room to check the beds, stopped and said to me in a rude tone "I'll tell you only once, you don't eat in the room" and continued by threatening me "otherwise you'll get a fine" even though I hadn't eaten in the room! I was so supprised by her attitude, and then she went through the moved lockers, put my bath towels on another bed, and ALSO looked through the souvenir/gift/Woolworth bags on the other girls' bunk beds. I found it absolutely disrespectful and shameful! I understand much better why, during my stay at Nate's, some of my belongings were no longer in their place. And I regret giving my money to someone who disrespected me. I think other hostels in Sydney deserve our money more than Nate's Palace Hotel. And becareful, They ask for a deposit for the room keys (20$), a detail that is not written on booking.com.

The location is pretty good, and the price was great. The bathrooms are gorgeous - the nicest I’ve ever seen in a hostel - and super clean. The bedroom was clean and the room comfortable, with good kitchen facilities.

I felt the staff weren’t very friendly or accommodating - it seemed like I was bothering them. At check-in, the receptionist gave warnings about drugs, sex, and extra fees, which, while reasonable policies, didn’t feel very welcoming. The receptionist even asked if I had any doubts about staying, which felt quite strange. The hostel is located on a busy road, and it can be loud; even with the windows closed, the traffic noise makes it hard to sleep.

The location is pretty spot-on. You can do almost everything for free or a cheap price - especially if you’re willing to walk a bit more than usual to save money (like 30 minutes or so). The bathroom seems newly renovated and is always clean, which I really appreciated. I’d recommend adding a bit of extra furniture where people can leave their belongings while showering. Other suggestions: it’d be nice if the kitchen also offered some basic free seasonings like salt, not just sugar and coffee and if the beds had curtains for a bit of privacy. As for the social vibe: I usually prefer staying in hostels because it’s easier to meet people when you’re traveling solo and short-term. Here, even tho everyone seemed friendly, it was clear that most people already knew each other. I’d dare to say about 85% of the hostel is actually staff. If you’re extroverted, you might find your way in, but otherwise - especially if you don’t speak one of their main languages - it might be harder to connect. Luckily, I was in a room with really nice travelers and already had friends in town, so I still had a great time. It wasn’t an actual problem, just something to keep in mind. They do offer some activities during the week, but I didn’t really see any of them happening - at least not outside their own groups.

To be honest, the only real issue I had was that someone moved my stuff without my consent. I get that they’re trying to keep the room clean, which is great, but I was the only one actually leaving my luggage on my bed as they requested (which is already kind of a weird rule but whatever), and everything else was inside the lockers. Still, all my shoes, which were inside one of the lockers, were moved to the locker where I was keeping my clothes. Not cool at all. Just because I didn’t use a padlock doesn’t mean anyone has the right to touch my stuff. And I really don’t want my underwear mixed in with my dirty boots. Next time, better asking or just leaving the shoes on the floor, if you must.
