AustraliaUnfortunately, our room was on the lower level, closer to Ruthven Street and hearing shot of trains departing. Train whistles started at 3 am and continued regularly until overtaken by the traffic noise early morning. We stopped two nights but it was worse the second night. Our room was No 27. Suggest staying on the upper level further away from noise intrusion.
We have stayed here previously and were very happy with the accommodation, but see later comments. The restaurant was great and the food/service also very good. Undercover parking was a bonus as we experienced inclement weather.

As always we couldn't fault The Ambassador. Room - clean, bed (including pillows) great, staff - friendly/helpful, breakfast - good value for money. Restaurant - wonderful food, staff, service.

AustraliaDisappointed with the restaurant, the service was shockingly slow. I ordered my meal and the grandkids didn't want meals just desserts. My meal arrived and after half an hour I finished my meal and still no desserts for the kids, I asked where they were and the girl went to find out, we waited another 20 minutes before they arrived. No apology or explanation as to why. Also sitting on a verandah in Winter the heating was inadequate for the space especially when guests are sitting next to freezing cold glass windows. Doonas and protectors had stains hope housekeeping took notice of that, I left them visible.
The room was an awesome size, comfy and cosy, with plenty of amenities for the couple of days we stayed. A restaurant on site with amazing food, but...Close to everything we wanted to sightsee, near the Japanese gardens worth visiting.
