Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe upstairs toilet didn't stop filling water so was very noisy. The room was hard to find through several doors. There were no tea towels or face cloths on arrival.
Location, close to transport and restaurants. Clean and plenty of room for a group.

United StatesDefinitely not what is pictured. Lifts were often down, during my 7 day stay. Got in at 9:30, asked if I could get even a noon check in, willing to pay. Absolutely not! Then, at 2:00 while checking in, the gentleman asked, why didn’t you check in early 🤦♀️ But, for the fare, it was good place!

AustraliaRoom was passable. Honestly not worth what we paid, I don't mind booking and paying for budget when I know its budget. this place doesn't look budget in the photos and is not really marketed as such. We booked for 5 people, which was 2 double beds and the fold out couch, we did not get linen for the fold out couch but had a spare pillow and doona in one of the cupboards which was fine for my 13 year old. TV was in the strangest position and not in front of any seats? Also only have the basic channels. Like I said, passable. was fine to sleep at for 2 nights when we were out and about most of the time. Would not want to have to spend any significant time in the room.
Location was perfect.

AustraliaBugs were climbing on the walls and in the kettle, the bed sheets were loud to move around in, and felt crunchy. The room looked nothing like online, and was borderline claustrophobic. Certainly wasn't a room to sit around and socialise in.
It was reasonably priced. The balcony was a good addition to an otherwise tiny room. The staff were friendly and gave good instructions on finding our room.

New ZealandFirst night our room was not ready so had a studio instead of 2 bedrooms. The first room was very noisy. It was better once we moved rooms on 2nd day.
Location was good. Close to tram, supermarket, restaurants and easy to walk into the city. Staff were very helpful booking taxis etc.

New ZealandElevator situation was stressful; the main building is down to one elevator that was packed full of people and really struggling with the increased load. The lift is shared by 8 floors' worth of guests, residents, and cleaning staff who have large cleaning and garbage trolleys. It felt like it was on the verge of breaking down a few times. While the Hotel is 100% at the whim of the elevator maintenance company to get this fixed, they could at least point people to the stairwells as an alternative to reduce congestion on the lifts and to leave them available for people who can't access stairs as easily. We would've been happy using the stairs to reduce waiting times on the lifts but were reluctant to use them in case it set off an alarm. Staff, please have this as an alternative option!
Great location, friendly staff. Room was comfortable and extra blankets were provided upon request from reception. Great little café in the lobby for a quick pick me up coffee in the morning. Tram stop directly outside the hotel, or just a 5 minute walk down to Melbourne Central / State Library. Lygon Street eateries are about a 10 minute walk in the opposite direction. Great place to stay if you're wanting to explore the most of Melbourne.

AustraliaPlace was smaller than perceived from the online photos, it could do with some freshening up. Lifts were a bit of a nuisance, the day we arrived there was only one running and people were lined up waiting to use the available one. No access to the stairs from the ground floor, only available to come down not up.
It was convenient for the activities we had planned and not far from food places,

AustraliaThey seriously need to update the rooms and bathrooms. They're old and I know for a fact they're always busy so they're making plenty of money to afford the renovations. I usually stay at the liberty one in Footscray and it's cheaper and also includes two massive bedrooms and two bathrooms along with a dishwasher and washing machine and dryer. The only reason I didn't stay there that time is because they had bumped up their damage fee and also wouldn't reply to emails but what I'm getting at is that it's a brand new building yes but it's very modern
Location is obviously great it's close to everything and parking is secure staff are wonderful wonderful, there's a convenience store right next door and being able to pay the bond with cash and then having to just wait 10 minutes after somebody quickly goes to check the room to receive the bond back is great they also were brilliant with communication and replying to emails very very prompt which I love

Philippines1. The images on the website were completely unlike what we anticipated. 2. Some of the kitchen utensils/appliances are all covered in grease and have not been washed. 3. We need to visit the lobby two times to request some amenities from the receptionist. 4. Hope the receptionist could be more accommodating and friendly.
It is merely acceptable; it is not good or bad in its current state. The location is quite excellent as it is easily reachable by tram.
