How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Maybe the kitchen was missing a few minor things like a tea towel or oven mitts but other than that everything was perfect.
Great location, very comfortable and big apartment, staff was very friendly.

Facilities were closed weekday AM when i wanted to use the pool and jacuzzi. Slow lifts - Only one in operation to guest rooms. No USB charging sockets. Sockets awkward & terrible to use with adapters. Hallway dark, dingy and dated. Could use a serious refresh.
Spacious rooms, small gym and pool/jacuzzi looked interesting. Convenient location. Changing area with shower was nice to have.

Windows and balcony doors need cleaning urgently. A few more utensils, bowls etc in kitchen. We had to use a saucepan to serve a salad. House keeping, restock milk and tea and coffee, collect kitchen rubbish daily.
It was quiet. Apartment was large.General cleanliness was good. Staff were friendly. Pool and garden area is very nice and well maintained. Easy access to the city and SCG. Good pubs and cafes around, walking distance to a supermarket. 11am checkout was handy.

Laundry had a musty smell and quite dimly lit Also front entrance VERY slippery

We had a bath with shower in it, and would have preferred a walk in shower, but we did not request this on our booking. There was a bath/shower mat provided which helped to make it safer (less slippery) and a notice from the hotel to advise us to be careful.
Very good location for access to Sydney CBD (we walked) and not far from Central station (we could have walked but for the pouring rain!). Room was comfortable with separate bedroom, Queen size bed, bathroom and large sitting room/kitchen area. Bill's restaurant downstairs is very nice and convenient, and has a good menu, but it is on the expensive side.

There were a few minor problems such as the freezer compartment not keeping food frozen enough.

Really noisy, lots of construction in the area, really noisy air conditioning unit out side bedroom!
Great area for transportation around Sydney. Lovely cafes and restaurants.

Shower over bath awkward. Old razor in shower - which was instantly removed once reported.
Large space, well styled and decorated. Missing a desk to work from however able to work from the glass dining table. Has everything you need for a comfortable stay

The hotel is conveniently located in the Surry Hills which suited our purpose. The apartment was well furnished that meant we were comfortable and able to cook for our one week stay.

Everything a little old and shabby. Surprising that no card key needed to access the lift.

Lots of road noise and current Sydney City council works mean jack hammers going at 10pm. They really need double glazed windows. Even without the road works, the noise from outside is immense.
Great location, clean and spacious rooms. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Bathroom wasn't clean as it could have been. Coffee sachets and milk weren't replenished On arrival Receptionist was initially friendly and attentive and part way through was answering phones and talking to someone else
