Our room was a bit odd because the huge bathroom space was open to the bedroom area so it was impossible to turn on lights in bathroom without illuminating entire room.

Walking into the hotel when the place was in full swing as a nightclub/bar was a little loud and overwhelming after a long day.

Location was perfect - within walking distance to a lot of things. Whilst not a conventional layout, it worked and the shower was amazing. The bed was comfortable and the room was a good size for the limited time we were there. Being able to go and get an ice bucket at any time was also convenient for those of us who prefer ice water. The staff were very helpful. The artwork was different but we liked that.

No actual coffee machines unless you book a certain grade of room (not in Medium room), and sachet coffee was offered as an alternative. Not a deal breaker but for the price of the stay, I believe it should be included.

Thoughtfully designed rooms which were functional. Housekeeping staff were fantastic in that they knew when to leave certain things alone, and were quite intuitive. Staff were very helpful. Loam has nice food and good service (restaurant in foyer).

Great Location. Easy walk to both Central and Museum Stations. 10 minute walk to China Town and 15 min to Town Hall. Rooms were tidy and clean. Staff were also nice.

My room needed a good dusting and that the Roof top restaurant was closed. It would have been nice to have some complimentary bikkies in the room to have with a cup of tea.

The room fixtures and fittings were stunning. I loved it all. The robes and the writing compendium were such a unique touch. The bathroom was beautiful. The room was lovely and clean and the bar and restaurant were so relaxed and lovely to spend time in. The onsite coffee shop was excellent too.

The only minor complaint was the entry to the hotel. Perhaps when construction is done next door, the hotel can add a friendly pull-in area with signage and cover from the elements, but right now it's on a busy and loud street that does not reflect the charm of the hotel inside. Or they could move the "official" entry to the back alley to make coming and going a bit more inviting. It's worth spending on the higher-end rooms and for higher floors, as the pricing is fairly reasonable and the views are pretty non-existent (i.e. a wall) for our rooms on the 5th floor. Another minor note: Our two medium plus rooms had fairly big differences in amenities, with one having a place for a suitcase, extra shelving for clothes, extra bathroom shelves for toiletries, and a desk - the other had none of this, just a larger couch - still a great room, but it may be worth asking if you require a desk or will have a stay that is long enough to require unpacking.

Flack Studio decor makes the whole place feel special. Food at Loam was great for dinner; breakfast was lovely but didn't always taste as good as it looked. The rooms were great, very liveable. Location is a very convenient walk to Surry Hills, Darlinghurst, and CBD. We liked having the choice between the cafe and Loam in the morning, especially when we were in a hurry. Rooms were extremely quiet, especially for a "trendy" hotel and the Ace brand.
